How to Connect Water Supply for Mobile Toilets

Admin October 07, 2026

The connection of water supply for mobile toilets should be carried out in accordance with standardized procedures to ensure stable water supply and no leakage. The specific methods are as follows:

1. Prepare Tools and Materials

Prepare basic tools and suitable materials in advance, including PPR water pipes or rubber hoses (select the specification according to the toilet model), adjustable faucets (with sealing gaskets), water pumps (used when the water source is far away), PTFE tape (for thread sealing), adjustable wrenches (for fixing water pipe joints), buckets (for temporary water storage testing), and sealant (for treating joint gaps). All materials should meet hygiene standards to avoid water pollution or leakage risks caused by the use of inferior pipe fittings.

2. Determine the Location of Water Inlets

Mobile toilets usually have two main water inlets:

  1. Flush tank water inlet: Located at the rear or side of the toilet, used for storing flushing water. It needs to be connected to the main water supply pipe.
  2. Sink water inlet: Located below the sink, requiring a separate water pipe connection to provide a constant flow of water.
Mark the water inlets according to the toilet design drawings or actual structure to avoid misconnection and functional abnormalities.

3. Connect Water Pipes to the Water Source

  1. Direct connection to the water source: If the water source is close (such as a municipal water supply connection), wrap PTFE tape around the threaded interface of the PPR water pipe and the faucet and tighten it. Insert the other end into the flush tank or sink water inlet and fix the clamp with an adjustable wrench.
  2. Long-distance water supply solution: When the water source is more than 5 meters away, a water pump needs to be installed at the water inlet end. Connect one end of the water pipe to the water outlet of the water pump and extend the other end to the toilet water inlet. The water pump should be fixed on a stable ground and connected to a power supply (if it is an electric pump).

4. Commissioning and Inspection

  1. Open the water source for testing: Slowly open the faucet or start the water pump and observe whether there is water leakage at the connections of the water pipes. If leakage is found, immediately close the water source, rewrap the PTFE tape or replace the sealing gasket.
  2. Adjust the water flow intensity: Control the water flow through the faucet switch or water pump pressure valve to ensure that the flush tank is filled within 30 seconds and the water flow from the sink is gentle without splashing.
  3. Long-term stability inspection: After continuous water supply for 1 hour, check all joints and the bent parts of the water pipes again to confirm that there is no dripping or deformation.

Precautions: In winter, wrap insulation materials around exposed water pipes to prevent freezing and cracking. Regularly clean the water pump filter to avoid blockage by impurities and affect the water supply efficiency.
