Hong Kong container houses come in several types, each with different features and uses.
The first type is a two-story container house: Overall size 2.5 m × 5 m with a two-room layout. The upper floor is two meters high, with glass doors and windows; interiors use carbon-crystal board finishes, with full lighting and outlets. Uses are broad—offices for small firms or individuals, homestays for travelers, or senior housing for comfortable living.
The second type is a demountable modular habitable container: Offered by Shenzhen Xishengqian Prefab House Co., Ltd. It uses a light-steel structure with sandwich wall panels and PU roof tiles as enclosure and roofing. Strengths include reliable structure for safe living; easy assembly with simple tools, modular combinations to client needs, and repeated reuse; attractive finishes and flexible layouts for custom design; waterproof structure against rain; service life up to 15 years; and eco-friendly savings aligned with sustainability. Snow load capacity is 1500 kg/m², wind resistance is Force 12, origin Shenzhen, specification size 1300 mm, buildable from 15-160 m² to suit different scales.
The third type is the cargo-container house: A common Hong Kong form made from shipping containers. It needs little land, skips complex building processes, can be relocated, and is highly flexible. Economically it saves labor cost and is an affordable housing option.
