Home Mobile Toilet Construction
There are various ways to construct a home mobile toilet, and you can choose the appropriate method based on your needs and materials. Here are some common construction methods:

I. Water Storage Barrel Construction Method
- Basic Modification: Use an angle grinder to split the water storage barrel in half lengthwise. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for easy mobility.
- Structural Reinforcement: Secure wooden strips and self-tapping screws on the upper side of the barrel to increase height and accommodate internal facilities. Cut an entrance on the side of the barrel, install sponge strips on both sides to form a door frame, and embed plastic soft boards to create raised walls. Invert the upper half of the barrel onto the top of the wooden strips as a roof, ensuring airtightness.
- Drainage System: Drill holes at the bottom of the barrel to install a drain pipe, forming a floor drain. Drill holes on the side to connect direct fittings, drill another hole at the bottom to install another fitting, and place a plastic bucket as a small water storage device to collect sewage.
- Function Installation: Install a simple bathroom heater made of water pipes, install a three-way fitting below the inlet pipe and connect a showerhead. Place a toilet and install a water tank, fix the edge of the toilet with glass glue, and connect the drain pipe to the sewage bucket.
- Handwashing Facilities: Connect a water pipe horizontally to the three-way fitting of the outlet pipe, extend it to the entrance as the inlet pipe for a handwashing basin, and drill a hole in the door to install a fitting, completing the water circuit.
II. Water Storage Tank and Pallet Construction Method
- Mobile Base: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of a pallet to form a movable base.
- Assembly Method: Assemble in combination with the water storage tank, with specific details adjusted according to the model of the water storage tank (such as connecting sewage pipes and inlet pipes). This method is usually suitable for prefabricated water storage tanks, and it is necessary to ensure the airtightness of the fittings.
III. Finished Modular Installation No complex civil engineering is required. It adopts a column splicing and fixing method, similar to building with building blocks. Modules are connected by buckles to ensure a tight fit. Such toilets usually integrate water flushing and sewage discharge systems, with simplified installation steps, suitable for rapid deployment.
IV. Classification and Selection Suggestions
- Structural Form: A single-unit structure is suitable for small spaces, while a composite structure has stronger stability.
- Mobility Method: A hoisting type is suitable for fixed positions, a towing type can move with vehicles, and a carrying type is suitable for short-distance adjustments.
- Sewage Treatment: A water flushing type requires a water source connection, a non-water flushing suction type is suitable for water-scarce environments, and a circulating water flushing type can save water.
Precautions: Before construction, plan the space and water and electricity lines to ensure smooth drainage; when selecting materials, consider durability (such as anti-corrosion wood and PVC pipes); regularly clean the sewage bucket to avoid odors.
