What Mobile Toilet Options for Home Decoration
Admin October 08, 2026
For home decoration, the position of a mobile toilet can be adjusted using methods such as toilet position shifters, raising the floor, wall-mounted toilets, or modifying pipes downstairs, depending on the situation. Details are as follows:

Short-distance shifting (10 - 15 cm): A toilet position shifter can be used, which is cost-effective and easy to install. However, when using a position shifter, attention should be paid to the pipe slope. Sunken bathrooms are easier to modify due to the sunken space on the floor. It should be noted that if the shifting distance exceeds 15 cm or there are many elbows, the risk of blockage will increase.
Shifting more than 15 cm:
- Raising the floor: Build a new platform to bury the pipes. The pipe diameter should be at least 110 mm, and the slope should be maintained between 2% and 3%. However, this method will sacrifice some floor height and is not suitable for bathrooms with low ceilings.
- Wall-mounted toilet: The pipes run along the wall, eliminating the need to raise the floor, and are suitable for moving more than 50 cm. It requires a wall-mounted (hanging) toilet, which has a high water tank position, strong flushing power, and is easy to clean. However, its installation is relatively complex and requires high construction techniques.
- Modifying pipes downstairs: This requires negotiation and consent from the downstairs neighbor. After modification, a waterproof test must be redone to ensure no water leakage issues that could cause damage to the downstairs area.
Shifting based on bathroom drainage type:
- Same-floor drainage (sunken bathroom): The bathroom floor is about 40 cm lower than the floor level, and the drainage pipes are within the home, making modification relatively convenient. The pipes can be directly modified within the backfill layer.
- Inter-floor drainage (drainage pipes pass through the floor slab for drainage): A toilet position shifter can be used for shifting. Since the floor slab cannot be dug, the floor needs to be raised. To prevent blockage, the shifting distance is not recommended to exceed 2 m, and it is best to create a drainage slope. Alternatively, the floor drain can be converted to a wall drain, connecting the toilet directly to the sewage riser (the toilet can only be moved to the adjacent wall of the sewage riser, not to the opposite wall). After modification, the toilet is less likely to block. Another option is to directly modify the sewage pipe in the neighbor's home to the desired position, but this also requires the neighbor's consent.
