High-Speed Airborne Mobile Toilet
"High-speed airborne mobile toilet" refers to a mobile toilet that is accidentally hoisted and moved on the highway. Such incidents have exposed problems such as non-standard transportation inspections and product design flaws in the industry.

Overview of Incidents
The phenomenon of "high-speed airborne mobile toilets" originated from two accidental incidents. On May 11th, a woman in Baoding, Hebei, was using a mobile toilet by the roadside when, unaware of the external situation, she and the toilet were loaded onto a truck by a crane and sent onto the highway. At 3:17 PM the same day, at a highway service area in Hebei, 26-year-old Ms. Zhang was watching short videos in a mobile toilet when the toilet was suddenly pulled off the ground by a hook-lift truck and rushed onto the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway, embarking on a 28-kilometer "flying man" mode that lasted for 23 minutes before being stopped by patrolling traffic police.
Exposed Industry Problems
- Non-standard transportation inspections: These incidents have exposed the chronic issue of "emphasizing transportation over inspection" in the mobile toilet industry. Among the more than 100,000 mobile toilet dispatches nationwide each year, only 37% of drivers follow a complete inspection process. This means that in most cases, mobile toilets are not adequately inspected before transportation, failing to ensure their fixed state and the safety of the surrounding environment, thereby increasing the probability of accidents.
- Product design flaws: The sound insulation performance of mainstream mobile toilets on the market reaches 35 decibels, which can effectively block highway noise and provide a relatively quiet environment for users. However, it also locks in cries for help. This makes it difficult for users to send effective distress signals to the outside world in the event of an accident, such as when the toilet is accidentally hoisted, increasing the degree of danger.
Recommendations for Response
To prevent similar incidents from happening again, the mobile toilet industry should strengthen the inspection process before transportation, ensuring that a complete inspection is strictly implemented for each dispatch to safeguard the fixed state of mobile toilets and transportation safety. At the same time, product design should be improved to incorporate effective distress devices or designs while maintaining sound insulation performance, ensuring that users can promptly seek help from the outside world in case of danger.
