Heshan Cement Prefabricated Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

Cement prefabricated houses in Heshan (presumably in rural areas of Henan) offer the advantages of short construction periods and low costs, but they also have drawbacks such as safety hazards, poor sound insulation, susceptibility to water leakage, limited space layout flexibility, and poor connection stability.

1. Prominent Safety Hazards
The seismic performance of cement prefabricated houses is significantly influenced by the quality of the prefabricated components and the assembly process. Prefabricated components produced by unregulated companies or assembled by non-professionals may result in insufficient structural stability, with gaps between panels potentially becoming collapse risk points. Additionally, the quality of prefabricated cement panels on the market varies greatly. Inferior products, due to insufficient material strength or improper steel reinforcement ratios, may have significantly shortened service lives and pose a risk of fracture with long-term use.

2. Inadequate Sound Insulation
Prefabricated panels are typically thin (e.g., 10-15 cm) and lack sound insulation design in their internal structure, allowing sound to be easily transmitted directly through the panels. For example, indoor conversations and footsteps may be clearly audible in adjacent rooms, significantly impacting scenarios with high privacy requirements, such as bedrooms and offices.

3. Widespread Water Leakage Issues
The joints between panels rely on sealants or cement mortar for filling, but these gaps are prone to cracking and causing water seepage due to long-term exposure to temperature changes, foundation settlement, and other factors. Water infiltration may corrode internal steel reinforcement, reduce structural strength, and even lead to issues such as wall mold and脱落 (peeling). Repair costs can be high.

4. Limited Personalization in Space Layout
Prefabricated houses adopt a modular design, requiring room sizes, door and window positions, etc., to be planned in advance, making it difficult to adjust flexibly according to actual needs. For example, if additional partitions or functional zoning changes are required, they may not be achievable due to the fixed sizes of the prefabricated components, limiting居住 comfort and practicality.

5. Poor Connection Stability
For low-rise buildings (e.g., 1-2 floors), the connection nodes bear relatively small loads, and safety can be reasonably ensured. However, for buildings with three or more floors, the increased loads make the connections between prefabricated components prone to cracking and even misalignment. Additionally, if the assembly process does not strictly adhere to specifications (e.g., insufficient bolt tightening force, loose welding), it may further exacerbate structural risks.

Summary: Cement prefabricated houses are suitable for short-term use scenarios that are sensitive to cost and have urgent construction deadlines, such as temporary housing and warehousing. However, if used for long-term residence or high-rise buildings, strict control over the quality of prefabricated components and the assembly process is necessary, along with regular structural safety inspections.
