Woman in Hefei Steals Mobile Toilet
A woman in Hefei stole a mobile toilet due to inconvenience in her family's toilet use and has been subjected to criminal coercive measures.

Basic Information of the Theft Incident: At around 9 p.m. on August 29, Jiang, a middle-aged man who makes and sells mobile toilets, reported to the Daxing Police Station of the Yaohai Branch of the Hefei Public Security Bureau that his new mobile toilet, worth over 5,000 yuan (with a selling price of over 8,000 yuan) and placed in a yard near Longgang Road, had been stolen. The police, after reviewing surveillance footage, found that several suspects had used a tricycle to steal the mobile toilet that night and transported it to a residential area several kilometers away beside Heping Road. At around 5 p.m. on September 1, the police discovered the stolen mobile toilet in a concealed location behind a simple supermarket in the residential area. The suspect was a 63-year-old woman named Xia, who had covered the mobile toilet with a woven bag.
Reasons and Process of the Theft: Xia initially made all sorts of excuses and refused to admit to the theft, claiming that she thought the mobile toilet was old and unused by others and even shifted the blame to an elderly man at the door. After being questioned by the police, Xia admitted to the theft. She said that her family had many members and often faced inconvenience in toilet use, and her 90-year-old mother-in-law took a long time each time she used the toilet, affecting other family members. She stole the mobile toilet to make it more convenient for her mother-in-law to use. She accidentally discovered the mobile toilet in the yard near Longgang Road and conspired with two others to commit the theft on the night of August 29.
Outcome of the Incident: Currently, Xia has been subjected to criminal coercive measures by the public security organs, and the Daxing Police Station is still conducting further investigation and handling of this matter. This incident reflects that no matter what the reason, stealing others' property is an illegal act and will be punished by law. When encountering difficulties in family life, one should resolve them through legal and reasonable means rather than resorting to illegal and criminal methods.
