Harbin Prefabricated House Siheyuan
Currently, no relevant records of 'prefabricated house siheyuan' have been found in Harbin. The representative existing siheyuan building in Harbin is the Hu Family Courtyard.

Basic Overview of the Hu Family Courtyard
The Hu Family Courtyard is located at No. 39 Jingyu Street. Built in 1901, it is the only remaining siheyuan in Harbin that combines Chinese and Western architectural elements, belonging to the Chinese Baroque architectural style. This style blends traditional Chinese architectural elements with Western architectural techniques, holding a unique position in Harbin's architectural history.
Architectural Structural Features
The main structure of the building is a two-story building enclosing a siheyuan. This structure not only retains the enclosed space of a traditional siheyuan but also increases the usable area through the two-story building. The second floor features a connected corridor, facilitating passage between different buildings and enriching the architectural hierarchy. The thickened walls and raised foundations are designed to adapt to Harbin's local climate conditions. The thickened walls provide better insulation, while the raised foundations prevent erosion from rainwater and snow. The exterior facade combines eclecticism and Art Nouveau styles. Eclecticism emphasizes the free combination of multiple architectural styles, while Art Nouveau focuses on the use of natural forms and decorative elements. There are brick carvings on the porch and under the eaves, which are exquisitely crafted and rich in themes, adding an artistic touch to the building.
Internal Space Layout
The internal space layout reflects feudal family ethics. The main room is the residence of the head wife, and the residences of the seven concubines are adjacent. This layout not only distinguishes between seniority and juniority, clarifying the status and hierarchy of family members, but also facilitates family gatherings, reflecting the living patterns and interpersonal relationships of feudal families.
Current Situation
Currently, the Hu Family Courtyard is dilapidated due to years of disrepair. However, it remains a typical representative of Harbin's architecture that combines Chinese and Western elements, holding significant value for researching Harbin's architectural history, culture, and social life.
