Hanging Container House Design Drawing

Admin September 17, 2026

Currently, there are no ready-made design drawings for hanging container houses available, but a structural framework understanding can be constructed based on relevant design descriptions.

Overall Structural Layout

This type of hanging container house is assembled from three containers. Two standard containers are stacked vertically, with one side extending outward in a cantilevered design. This design breaks away from the relatively regular layout of traditional container houses, adding a sense of spatial hierarchy and uniqueness. Beneath them lies a custom-made widened container that connects to the vertically stacked and cantilevered parts, forming the main structure of the first floor. This layout not only makes full use of the space within the containers but also creates a unique architectural form through the combination of different containers.

Distinctive Design Elements

  • Large-scale Observation Windows: The house is filled with large-scale observation windows, which are a major highlight of the design. The installation of these windows significantly increases the indoor lighting area, allowing natural light to fully enter the interior and creating a bright and transparent living environment. At the same time, the large-scale observation windows provide occupants with a broad view, enabling them to better appreciate the surrounding natural scenery and enhancing the interaction between humans and nature.
  • Flat Roof Terrace: The flat roof is transformed into a terrace, providing occupants with an additional outdoor activity space. On the terrace, occupants can place tables and chairs, enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, and engage in leisure and entertainment activities such as reading, tea-tasting, and sunbathing. The terrace can also be decorated with greenery according to personal preferences, with the planting of some flowers and plants to create an aerial garden, further enhancing the quality and comfort of living.
  • Sunshade Corridor: A sunshade corridor is formed beneath the cantilevered container, which is a highly practical design. In the hot summer, the sunshade corridor can provide shading for the first floor of the house, reducing direct sunlight exposure, lowering indoor temperatures, and saving on air conditioning energy consumption. At the same time, the sunshade corridor can also serve as a semi-outdoor transitional space where occupants can place some outdoor furniture for leisure and cooling off.
