Guangzhou Mobile Toilet Renovation
Guangzhou has taken measures such as setting up mobile toilets and promoting age-friendly and barrier-free renovations in the renovation of mobile toilets.

Setting up mobile toilets to cope with peak pedestrian flows: To effectively handle potential peak pedestrian flows during events, Guangzhou has rationally arranged mobile toilets in densely populated areas. For example, 23 mobile toilets have been set up at the Sports Center and 25 at Tianhe Park. The deployment of these mobile toilets has greatly alleviated the toilet pressure in densely populated places. In addition, mobile toilet buses have been equipped, which is an innovative measure with high flexibility. Mobile toilet buses can flexibly adjust their locations among different areas according to real-time changes in pedestrian flows, ensuring that toilet services can be provided in a timely manner in places with high pedestrian mobility and meeting the temporary needs of citizens and tourists.
Promoting age-friendly and barrier-free renovations: During the toilet renovation process, Guangzhou has fully considered the toilet needs of special groups such as the elderly, the disabled, pregnant women, and children, and systematically promoted age-friendly and barrier-free renovation work. For toilet stalls, safety assist handles have been installed, which can provide strong support and increase safety for the elderly and the disabled with mobility difficulties during the toilet process. The installation of storage racks and hanging hooks has made it convenient for citizens to place items and improved the convenience of using the toilet.
Large-scale completion of age-friendly facility upgrades and renovations: By the end of October 2025, Guangzhou has achieved remarkable results in the upgrade and renovation of age-friendly facilities in public toilets across the city. A total of 1,383 public toilets have completed age-friendly facility upgrades and renovations. During the renovation process, a large number of auxiliary facilities have been installed, including 9,356 handrails and 2,775 storage tables. The installation of these facilities has further optimized the usage environment of public toilets, provided more considerate and convenient toilet conditions for special groups, and reflected Guangzhou's humanistic care in the construction of public service facilities.
