Guangning Development of Container Houses
Guangning has made notable progress in container houses, mainly in commercial-district construction and enterprise production.
On the commercial-district side, the main structure of the "Binfen·Jiquli" container commercial district in Binheng Town, Guangning County, is largely complete, with plans to open to the public before National Day 2025. The project shows Guangning exploring commercial uses of container houses by converting containers into retail space and building a distinctive shopping street. This innovative approach not only offers new ideas for local commerce but also provides a practical case for diversified container-house applications. The commercial district is expected to attract more visitors and consumers, boost the local economy, and demonstrate the feasibility and strengths of container houses in commercial settings—such as short build cycles, high mobility, and flexible design.
On the enterprise production side, Dongtai Container Manufacturing Co., Ltd. relocated its production base in early 2021 to the Infrastructure Equipment Manufacturing Park of the High-tech Industrial Park in Guangning County, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province. The company invested more than $5,556,000 to self-build a 52-mu (40,000 m²) plant, creating an R&D center and manufacturing base for specialty boxes, with a designed annual capacity and throughput of 500-6,000 boxes. Its business is broad, covering non-standard custom boxes in the container field, generator-set containers, IDC data-center containers, energy-storage and photovoltaic containers, housing-module containers, and related manufacturing plus turnkey solutions. This shows that Guangning has strong manufacturing capacity for container houses and related products and can meet demand across different sectors. The company's arrival and growth have boosted local employment and industrial upgrading, and have given solid support to technological innovation and industry clustering for container houses in Guangning.
