Golmud Mobile Toilet

Admin September 20, 2026

The Golmud mobile toilet is an adaptive sanitation facility designed specifically for the unique high-altitude environment, meeting mobility needs through system integration and material innovation. It is widely used in construction sites, music festivals, marathon events, scenic spots, and other scenarios. Its core design features are reflected in the following aspects:

1. Optimized System Integration
The mobile toilet highly integrates subsystems such as sewage discharge, flushing, and ventilation within a limited space. For example, the sewage discharge system adopts a sealed and leak-proof design to avoid the risk of percolation into the permafrost layer at high altitudes. The flushing system achieves water conservation through air pressure differences or vacuum technology, with a single flush volume of only 15% of that of traditional toilets, and is equipped with a pressure maintenance device to cope with low-pressure environments. The ventilation system combines air circulation with heat retention to prevent internal temperatures from dropping too low and causing pipe freezing.

2. Material and Structural Adaptability
In response to the characteristics of large temperature differences between day and night, strong ultraviolet radiation, and high winds, the toilet body is made of polyurethane composite panels. Their closed-cell structure prevents water vapor penetration, the anti-ultraviolet coating has a lower degradation rate than ordinary coatings, and color stability is maintained for about five years. The joints are double-waterproofed with silicone sealant and ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber strips to adapt to temperature deformations from -30°C to 70°C. In terms of structural design, a low center of gravity layout and wind-resistant reinforcement components enhance stability. The internal pipelines are wrapped with insulation layers and equipped with heat pipe heat exchangers to maintain pipe temperatures using waste heat from the equipment.

3. Energy and Water Resource Management
The energy configuration is mainly based on photovoltaic thin-film power generation components, with an average daily power generation of 1.7 kilowatt-hours. The surplus energy is stored in lithium iron phosphate battery packs to ensure seven days of operation during continuous rainy weather. Water resource management integrates rainwater collection eaves troughs and air condensation water recovery devices, enabling the utilization of approximately 2.3 cubic meters of unconventional water sources annually, and reducing water dependence in conjunction with vacuum collection systems.

4. Intelligent Maintenance System
Core components such as vacuum generators and bioreactors adopt quick-disconnect interfaces, with replacement times controlled within two hours. The remote monitoring platform transmits 12 parameters in real-time, including box tilt and ammonia concentration, through narrowband Internet of Things technology. When data anomalies occur, it automatically generates maintenance plans and pushes spare part lists.

Differences from Urban Mobile Toilets
The Golmud scenic spot model adopts a wind-solar hybrid power supply system for energy. Its wall thermal conductivity is lower than 0.022W/(m·K), providing 40% better insulation performance than ordinary models, and it is equipped with additional heat pipe heat exchangers to enhance freeze protection. In addition, Jinhua Xin'an Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd. can provide customized services to meet different scenario requirements.
