Fuxing District Rural Mobile Toilets
The rural mobile toilets in Fuxing District represent a significant initiative to advance the 'Toilet Revolution,' aiming to improve rural toilet environments and address issues such as insufficient public toilet numbers and unreasonable layouts.

I. Construction Status
Since 2020, Fuxing District has been gradually promoting the construction of prefabricated mobile toilets to tackle the challenges of outdated and unevenly distributed rural public toilet facilities. Currently, seven prefabricated mobile toilets are under construction, with all expected to be operational by mid-November. These toilets feature a modular design, facilitating rapid installation and relocation, and can flexibly adapt to land use requirements in different areas, particularly suited to the dispersed terrain and low population density characteristic of rural regions.
II. Functional Design
The interior facilities of the prefabricated mobile toilets are well-equipped, fully embodying a combination of humanization and technological advancement.
- Spatial Layout: The toilets include unisex stalls, a third toilet, and a management room. The unisex stalls, designed with individual compartments, enhance usage efficiency and protect privacy; the third toilet provides convenience for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and families with infants; the management room is used for storing cleaning tools and equipment, ensuring daily maintenance.
- Sanitary Facilities: Equipped with sensor-activated handwashing devices to reduce contact contamination risks; the 'flush, seal, exhaust' odor control system effectively addresses traditional dry toilet odor issues through automatic flushing, sealing for odor prevention, and forced exhaust, improving air quality.
- Functional Adaptation: The toilet design takes into account the needs of different groups. For example, the third toilet is equipped with handrails, emergency call buttons, and other auxiliary facilities, demonstrating care for special groups.
III. Quality Assurance Measures
Fuxing District is simultaneously advancing a special inspection and rectification campaign for rural toilet renovation issues. Using Hucun Town as a pilot, village and community committee officials are organized to inspect existing toilets house by house and alley by alley, establishing detailed work records and formulating rectification plans for identified issues. This initiative ensures that both newly built mobile toilets and existing toilet renovation projects meet quality standards, avoiding redundant construction or resource waste, and providing assurance for long-term use.
IV. Social Significance
The promotion of mobile toilets not only improves rural sanitation conditions and reduces disease transmission risks but also enhances the accessibility of public services through scientific planning. Their modular nature offers flexibility for future layout adjustments in response to population movements or land use changes, serving as a concrete practice of the 'ecologically livable' goal within the rural revitalization strategy.
