Foreign Integrated Prefabricated Housing

Admin September 18, 2026

Foreign integrated prefabricated housing, especially those produced in China, have demonstrated outstanding performance in overseas markets, boasting advantages in terms of price, efficiency, and more, with a broad market outlook.

Significant Price Advantage: Prefabricated houses produced in China are relatively inexpensive. The average price of an ordinary mobile house ranges from approximately $6,000 to $10,000. Including costs such as tariffs and ocean freight, the total landed cost typically does not exceed $30,000 to $40,000, equivalent to one-third to one-half of the cost of a house of the same area in the United States. For example, an American couple purchased a Chinese prefabricated house priced at $15,800, and after adding shipping and tariff costs, the total expenditure was $28,689. This price advantage gives Chinese prefabricated houses strong competitiveness in the international market.

Short Construction Period: The construction period for local houses in the United States is approximately 6 to 18 months, whereas the production period for Chinese prefabricated houses is 25 to 30 days, with ocean shipping to the United States taking an additional 45 to 50 days, resulting in a total delivery time of less than 3 months. Furthermore, the construction period for modular buildings can be reduced by more than 60% compared to traditional buildings. This efficient construction method meets the needs of overseas customers for quick occupancy, further enhancing the market appeal of Chinese prefabricated houses.

Enthusiastic Market Response: In the first quarter of this year, China's prefabricated building exports grew by 45%. Guangdong Customs alone exported goods worth 1.4 billion yuan in the first four months, a staggering increase of 38.1% year-on-year. Data from Alibaba.com shows that from January to June this year, the gross merchandise volume (GMV) of mobile housing categories on the platform increased by more than 50% year-on-year, with the top three buyer origins being the United States (accounting for more than 20%), Australia, and Mexico. Some manufacturers reported selling approximately 3,000 prefabricated houses, with prices ranging from $7,000 to $20,000, primarily covering markets such as the United States, Australia, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Indonesia.

Outstanding Product Features: Modular construction is a more integrated mode of prefabricated building, where the building is divided into individual modules, manufactured in a factory, and then transported to the site for assembly. Prefabricated houses come complete with bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and more, with water pipes and electrical wiring pre-installed. The factory employs parallel operations, along with the use of automated vertical warehouses and intelligent production lines, ensuring efficient and precise production.

Broad Market Prospects: Market research institutions predict that by 2030, the global modular building market size will exceed $142.8 billion.
