Ford's Mobile Toilets

Admin September 21, 2026

Ford's 'mobile toilets' mainly involve two different scenarios: the new long-wheelbase version of the Ford Nugget camper van and the USS Ford aircraft carrier.

Ford's New Nugget Camper Van

In 2025, Ford introduced a new long-wheelbase version of the Nugget camper van, with one of its highlights being the addition of an indoor toilet. In previous camper van designs, due to space constraints and other factors, toilets were often difficult to arrange reasonably, causing inconvenience for users during camping trips. The new long-wheelbase Nugget camper van, however, achieves a complete separation of the kitchen, living area, and dining area through optimized space design, and provides the convenience of an indoor toilet for four-person travel. This improvement significantly enhances the comfort and convenience of camping, allowing users to enjoy the natural scenery outdoors while having a toilet experience similar to that at home, eliminating the need to worry about finding suitable toilet locations and meeting people's demands for a high-quality camping life.

USS Ford Aircraft Carrier

As an important military asset of the U.S. Navy, the USS Ford aircraft carrier is massive in scale and has a large number of personnel on board. However, its vacuum sewage system has encountered serious problems. Originally, there were nearly six hundred toilets on the ship, but due to system failures, more than five hundred and eighty toilets were completely out of order. This situation has caused great distress to the sailors on board, with them often having to wait for at least forty-five minutes to use the toilet, seriously affecting their daily lives and work efficiency. In extreme cases, some people even had to relieve themselves facing the sea when they couldn't hold it any longer, and sewage backflow occurred frequently, with fecal water often reaching above the ankles. To cope with this dilemma, before the aircraft carrier docks, 'toilet safety cards' have to be issued on board to guide soldiers on how to relieve themselves in concealed areas on the deck. This incident fully exposes the serious flaws in the logistical support system of the USS Ford and also highlights the enormous challenges faced by large military equipment in the maintenance and management of complex systems.
