Fire Spacing of Prefabricated Panel Houses
The fire spacing requirements for prefabricated panel houses (panel buildings) are as follows:

According to the 'Building Fire Protection Code', the fire spacing for prefabricated panel houses needs to be determined based on specific scenarios, mainly divided into the following three categories:
1. Fire spacing between panel buildings
The spacing between prefabricated panel houses should be no less than 6 meters. This requirement is based on the building material characteristics (such as color-coated steel sheets, lightweight panels, etc.) and structural features of panel buildings, ensuring that in the event of a fire in a single panel building, flames and high-temperature radiation will not rapidly spread to adjacent buildings, buying time for personnel evacuation and initial firefighting efforts. If panel buildings are densely arranged, a 6-meter spacing can effectively reduce the risk of a chain reaction of fire spread.
2. Fire spacing between panel buildings and other structures
The spacing between prefabricated panel houses and other types of buildings (such as brick-concrete structures, concrete structures) should be no less than 12 meters. If a fire wall (a fire separation structure with a fire resistance rating of no less than 3 hours) is installed between the panel building and adjacent buildings, the spacing can be reduced to 6 meters. The fire wall must be continuously sealed without openings or penetrations to block the spread of fire through thermal radiation, flying embers, or smoke.
3. Minimum spacing under special circumstances
Under conditions that meet specific enclosure measures and have been approved by the local fire department, the minimum spacing between prefabricated panel houses and other buildings can be further reduced to 3 meters. Specifically, one of the following conditions must be met:
- Both adjacent exterior walls are fire walls, and the roof has no skylights with a fire resistance rating of no less than 1 hour;
- One side is a fire wall and the roof has no skylights, while the opening parts of the adjacent building's exterior wall are protected by fire prevention measures (such as fire shutters, fire-resistant glass, etc.);
- The fire resistance rating of the lower building is no less than Grade II, the roof has no skylights, and fire prevention measures are installed at the opening parts of the exterior wall of the higher building.
Such special circumstances require strict review of the building structure, material fire resistance performance, and fire protection facility configuration to ensure that the reduced spacing still meets overall fire safety requirements.
Summary: The fire spacing for prefabricated panel houses needs to be comprehensively determined based on building type, fire wall installation, and special conditions, with the core goal of reducing fire spread risk through physical isolation. In practical applications, priority should be given to complying with code requirements, and special circumstances require professional evaluation and approval to ensure fire safety.
