Installation of Mobile Toilets for the Elderly
Admin September 22, 2026
The installation of mobile toilets for the elderly should be carried out according to the specific type of equipment. Common equipment includes mobile toilets, mobile grab bars in bathrooms, and 'squat-to-sit' chairs. Here are the detailed installation methods:

Mobile Toilet Installation
- Basic Installation Process: First, install the toilet flange, ensuring that the center of the flange is aligned with the center of the drainpipe before placing the toilet correctly. Next, install the angle valve, connect the three-way joint for the water inlet and the sprayer, and screw on the toilet water inlet hose. Then, assemble the toilet sprayer by tightening the sealing rubber rings at both ends and connecting it to the other end of the three-way joint. Forcefully clamp the sprayer bracket onto the top of the three-way joint. Finally, after ensuring there are no issues with the toilet's water test, apply sealant to secure it in place.
- Basic Model Installation: Insert silicone anti-slip pads into the four corners at the bottom to enhance stability. Align the upper and lower toilet bodies and press down on the buckles to secure them and complete the assembly.
Mobile Grab Bar Installation in Bathrooms
- Understanding Types and Forms:
- Horizontal Grab Bars: Installed horizontally on the wall beside the toilet or on the walls of the shower area or beside the bathtub, providing parallel support to help maintain body stability.
- Vertical Grab Bars: Installed vertically beside the toilet to assist the elderly in standing up, making it easier to stand by exerting downward force with the arms.
- L-Shaped Grab Bars: Combining the advantages of horizontal and vertical grab bars, suitable for installation beside the toilet to provide multi-angle support points.
- Foldable Grab Bars: Suitable for bathrooms with limited space, folding up when not in use. The hinge part should be sturdy, and the load-bearing capacity should meet standards.
- Floor-Mounted Grab Bars: Fixed to the ground via a base, suitable for non-load-bearing walls or situations where drilling for installation is not possible. Attention should be paid to stability and ground cleanliness.
- Considerations for Selection:
- Evaluate Installation Location and Usage Scenario: Clarify the purpose of the grab bar. For example, beside the toilet, it is recommended to install an L-shaped or a combination of vertical and horizontal grab bars. In the shower area, horizontal or vertical grab bars are commonly used.
- Measure Space Dimensions: Accurately measure the dimensions of the installation location to ensure that the grab bar is easy to grip after installation and does not obstruct the opening and closing of doors, the use of cabinets, or normal passage.
- Check the Material and Structure of the Installation Wall: Confirm whether the wall is a solid wall or a load-bearing wall. For tiled walls, lightweight partition walls, or hollow brick walls, special installation and fixation methods should be adopted, such as using heavy-duty expansion bolts or adding reinforcing panels inside the wall.
'Squat-to-Sit' Chair Installation
This chair has an adjustable bottom to fit various squat toilets. During installation, use a wrench to adjust the four feet to the appropriate positions, ensuring they are firmly pressed against the ground and can adapt to slightly sloped floors.
