Duty Room Container House
The duty room container house is a modular building transformed from a container, designed for temporary duty functions. It features easy mobility, a sturdy structure, and environmental protection and energy efficiency. The following is an introduction from several aspects including design principles, structural optimization, functional expansion, and application scenarios:

Design Principles
The duty room container house is not simply using the container directly as a house. Instead, it is redesigned from three dimensions: structural mechanics, material thermal engineering, and assembly processes. For example, Baotou Xinxing Color Plate Steel Structure Manufacturing Co., Ltd. transforms the steel container originally used for cargo transportation into a residential building unit that can be repeatedly disassembled and assembled through secondary design and system integration.
Structural Optimization
- Load-bearing Optimization: The traditional container has a large spacing between the longitudinal beams of the bottom frame, resulting in insufficient stiffness when used directly as a residential floor. The company adopts the method of adding C-shaped steel purlins between the bottom beams to evenly distribute the load to each main beam, enabling the container to maintain structural stability even when stacked three layers high.
- Anti-corrosion Treatment: After shot blasting and rust removal, the container surface is sprayed with a zinc-rich primer and a polyurethane topcoat. This protective system allows the steel to maintain an effective service life of more than 15 years in the harsh environment of northwest wind and sand and temperature differences.
- Thermal Insulation: To address the cold and heat bridge effect of the metal container wall, a broken bridge lining structure is adopted. This involves filling hard polyurethane foam between the steel frame and the interior wall panel and adding rubber thermal insulation pads at the connections of the keels, reducing the heat exchange efficiency between the inside and outside of the container by about 40%.
Functional Expansion
- Environmental Protection and Sewage Discharge: An integrated self-circulating sewage discharge system is integrated. For wild campsites without water and electricity, a sewage collection tank and a gravity separator are installed at the bottom of the container to separately treat gray water (bathing and washing water) and black water (toilet sewage). The gray water can be reused for watering vegetation outside the container after sedimentation and activated carbon filtration; the black water is converted into liquid fertilizer through anaerobic fermentation by adding microbial agents.
Application Scenarios
It is suitable for various scenarios such as construction site accommodation, temporary offices, warehouse storage, construction site duty rooms, temporary shops, and mobile board house dormitories. The container is made of high-quality steel, fire-resistant and thermally insulated, sturdy and durable, with complete doors and windows. It can be equipped with air conditioners, lighting, sockets, and other facilities, allowing for move-in readiness.
