The Dongying Port Yitudi Container Terminal is located in the Dongying Port area of Shandong Province and is the first specialized container terminal in Dongying. The terminal was invested and constructed by Dongying Urban Construction Group with an investment of 1.134 billion yuan. It is equipped with one 50,000-ton container berth, and the hydraulic structure is designed for berthing 100,000-ton container ships, with an annual handling capacity of 300,000 TEUs. The project has been included in the key projects for green, low-carbon, and high-quality development in Shandong Province in 2024 and the key projects in Dongying City. It completed its first voyage on July 2, 2025, filling the gap of no specialized container terminal in the Dongying area and marking Dongying Port's official entry into the era of specialized container transportation.

II. Terminal Functions and Advantages

The terminal has the convenient conditions for multimodal transport by water, rail, and road and is an important part of the sea-rail intermodal transport project in Dongying Port. Relying on the shipping route resources of Shandong Port, the terminal has opened feeder routes to Qingdao Port and Yantai Port, etc., and opened the "Dongying-Yangpu" domestic and foreign trade co-vessel route on January 12, 2026, with plans for north-south routes and international routes. It is estimated that the terminal can reduce regional logistics costs by 30%-50% and save logistics costs of 300 million to 500 million yuan per year for enterprises in the hinterland.

Since its opening on July 2, 2025, the Dongying Port Yitudi Container Terminal has experienced several important milestones. On December 19, 2025, the Shandong Provincial Government approved the opening of this berth to foreign vessels; on December 22, 2025, the annual cargo throughput of Dongying Port exceeded 100 million tons for the first time, officially joining the ranks of "100-million-ton ports"; on January 16, 2026, the main project of the Yitudi railway dedicated line in Dongying Port was successfully completed, and at the same time, the 100,000-ton general-purpose berth in Dongying Port and this container terminal were officially put into operation.
