Do Mobile Toilets Need to Be Connected to Water Pipes?
Whether mobile toilets need to be connected to water pipes depends on their type; some do, while others do not.

Mobile toilets requiring water pipes:
Take pastoral-style mobile toilets as an example. These toilets are typically designed as sanitary facilities similar to fixed buildings, equipped with standard water-flushing systems, including toilets and sinks. When in use, they need to be connected to external pipes through floor docking to introduce water into the toilet for flushing and cleaning purposes. Their working principle is similar to that of ordinary household bathrooms, relying on a continuous flow of water to flush and discharge waste. Therefore, they must be connected to water pipes to function properly. These toilets are suitable for scenarios with a stable water supply and high hygiene requirements, such as public areas like scenic spots and parks.
Mobile toilets not requiring water pipes:
Sealed mobile toilets (including packaged mobile toilets and waterless ecological mobile toilets) do not require connection to upper and lower water pipe networks at all. Packaged mobile toilets use physical barrier technology to directly collect waste in replaceable plastic bags or containers, preventing contact with the external environment. After use, only the collection bag needs to be replaced, with no water required throughout the process. Waterless ecological mobile toilets, on the other hand, employ biodegradation or chemical decomposition technology, adding special bacteria or chemical reagents to decompose waste into harmless substances (such as carbon dioxide and water). Some models can even convert the decomposed residue into organic fertilizer. The advantages of these toilets are that they do not require a water source, sewage pipes, or septic tanks, and are flexible to install, suitable for water-scarce areas, temporary event venues, or scenarios with strict environmental requirements.
Summary:
If choosing a water-flushing mobile toilet (such as a pastoral-style one), plan for water pipe connection in advance; if choosing a sealed or waterless type, you can completely eliminate the need for water pipes. When making a purchase, make a comprehensive decision based on the actual usage scenario, water source conditions, and environmental requirements.
