Installation of Mobile Toilets in Dingxi Scenic Area

Admin October 08, 2026

The installation of mobile toilets in Dingxi scenic area requires comprehensive planning from five aspects: site selection and layout, foundation treatment, structural installation, supporting systems, and surrounding environment, ensuring a balance between functionality and landscape harmony.

1. Site Selection and Layout
The installation points should avoid areas with dense underground pipelines and maintain a distance of 10 to 30 meters from the main walking paths in the park, ensuring accessibility for tourists while minimizing visual interference with the landscape. Based on the walking speed of tourists and their physiological needs cycle, service points should be set up at reasonable intervals along the pedestrian paths: in areas with undulating terrain, facilities should be installed before reaching the fatigue threshold, considering the physical exertion curve of hikers; in areas with high pedestrian traffic, such as viewing platforms and path intersections, the number of facilities should match the peak visitor flow statistical model to avoid supply-demand imbalance.

2. Foundation Treatment
Before installation, a simple geological survey should be conducted to ensure that the soil bearing capacity is greater than 80 kilonewtons per square meter, and a concrete foundation should be set up to distribute the load. For collapsible foundations on the Loess Plateau, appropriate solutions should be adopted: sand and gravel compaction can improve soil density, concrete piers can enhance local bearing capacity, and screw piles are suitable for soft soil layers, fixing the structure by penetrating into stable soil layers.

3. Structural Installation
The basic structural framework should be made of metal or high-strength polymer materials to withstand the local windy climate. Functional units should adopt standardized interface designs for quick assembly and disassembly; during transportation, the overall dimensions should comply with road transportation regulations. Upon arrival at the installation site, the units can be unfolded using hydraulic devices, with each installation cycle controlled within 3 hours and without the need for heavy machinery, reducing construction difficulty and cost.

4. Supporting Systems

  • Water Circulation or Waterless Flushing Systems: In areas with limited or no water supply, equipment using negative pressure suction principles should be adopted, processing waste through physical separation or biochemical decomposition processes and compressing the volume to reduce collection frequency.
  • Power Supply Systems: Integrated solar power modules should be used, with the peak power of photovoltaic panels meeting at least 1.5 times the average daily electricity consumption; deep-cycle gel batteries should be selected for storage, with the depth of discharge controlled within 50%. The controller should have overcharge, over-discharge, and short-circuit protection functions to ensure stable system operation.
  • Biodegradation Systems: The core consists of specific microbial communities that decompose organic matter in temperature-controlled tanks. Scenic areas at different altitudes should be equipped with treatment systems with varying microbial activity to adapt to low-temperature or low-oxygen environments.

5. Surrounding Environment
A hard-paved area of at least 2 meters wide should be reserved around the installation points to facilitate the operation of collection vehicles and avoid operational difficulties or equipment damage due to soft ground.
