Datong Mobile Toilet Project

Admin September 21, 2026

The Datong Mobile Toilet Project is a livelihood project aimed at addressing the challenge of public toilet access, enhancing travel experiences, and contributing to the creation of a civilized city. The following provides an introduction from five aspects: project overview, construction planning, standards and regulations, management objectives, and production and maintenance techniques.

I. Project Coverage and Construction Scale
The project covers four core areas of Datong City: Pingcheng District, Yungang District, Xinrong District, and Yunzhou District, encompassing five major types of public venues: city parks (such as Wenying Lake Ecological Park, among 6 others), tourist attractions (such as the Yungang Grottoes, among 5 others), transportation hubs (such as Datong Railway Station, among 3 others), commercial districts (such as Huayan Temple Cultural Street, among 4 others), and sports venues (such as the Datong Sports Center, among 2 others). The plan is to construct 30 standardized mobile toilets, categorized into four types based on function: single-stall type (5 units), double-stall type (10 units), triple-stall type (10 units), and barrier-free type (5 units), all equipped with independent management rooms to cater to both general users and special populations.

II. Technical Standards and Regulatory Framework
The project strictly adheres to multiple national standards and industry regulations, including the 'Urban Public Toilet Design Standard' (CJJ14-2016) for basic requirements such as stall dimensions and ventilation; the 'Classification and Evaluation of Quality Grades for Tourist Toilets' (GB/T 18973-2016) for star-rating standards for tourist attraction toilets; the 'Building Water Supply and Drainage Design Standard' (GB 50015-2019) for regulations on the material and slope of sewage pipes; and the 'Construction Safety Inspection Standard' (JGJ59-2011) for mandatory requirements for on-site safety protection, ensuring full compliance and control throughout the project process.

III. Management Objectives and Implementation Phases
The project sets four core objectives: in terms of quality, it aims for a 100% first-time acceptance rate and strives to win the Shanxi Province High-Quality Project award; the construction period is controlled within 90 calendar days, divided into five phases: preliminary preparation (days 1-10), foundation construction (days 11-30), main body installation (days 31-60), commissioning and acceptance (days 61-80), and handover for use (days 81-90); in terms of safety, it aims to eliminate serious injuries and above, with a minor injury rate controlled below 0.5‰; in terms of environmental protection, it aims to achieve 100% classification and recycling of construction waste, with noise emissions complying with the 'Emission Standard for Environmental Noise at the Boundary of Construction Sites' (GB12523-2011). The organizational structure adopts a project manager responsibility system, with three major management lines under the project manager: deputy project manager, technical leader, and commercial manager, covering all elements such as construction, safety, technology, and contracts.

IV. Key Points of Production and Maintenance Techniques
In terms of material selection, the main frame uses lightweight high-strength aluminum alloy or stainless steel profiles, and the wall panels use new composite materials such as metal carved panels and aluminum-plastic panels, balancing durability and aesthetics; in terms of functional module integration, the flushing system is divided into water-flushing type (for municipal water supply areas) and waterless type (for water-scarce scenic areas) according to the scenario, the ventilation system achieves natural air exchange through roof forced exhaust devices and internal air duct design, and waste treatment adopts three types of technologies: storage type (regular removal), biological degradation type (microbial decomposition), and physical-chemical treatment type (chemical disinfection), meeting different environmental needs.
