Danzhou Mobile Toilet Construction Plan

Admin October 12, 2026

The construction plan for mobile toilets in Danzhou needs to be designed by integrating key aspects such as site selection, structure, and sanitation treatment systems, as detailed below:

I. Site Selection and Foundation Construction

Site selection should adhere to the principle of prioritizing drainage, ensuring that the groundwater level is at least 1.5 meters below the bottom of the toilet pit to prevent fecal contamination of groundwater. For temporary construction site toilets, it is recommended to set them up downwind of the construction area to minimize odor impact on personnel activities. Foundation construction requires leveling the site; in wild environments, concrete or brick foundations can be used to ensure structural stability; for temporary facilities, a moisture-proof bedding layer can be directly laid.

II. Main Structure Construction

  1. Field Mobile Toilets: Constructed using waterproof canvas + steel frame, equipped with collapsible toilets for easy disassembly and mobility. The steel frame should be rust-proofed, and the canvas should possess UV resistance and corrosion resistance.
  2. Container-Type Mobile Toilets: To be implemented by construction units with independent legal person status, requiring the submission of more than three design drawings and budget estimates, with the project budget controlled within 600,000 yuan. The structure can be constructed using light steel or repurposed shipping containers, with internal divisions for male and female restrooms, management rooms, and other functional areas, complying with the ventilation and lighting requirements of the Urban Public Toilet Design Standard (CJJ 14-2025).

III. Sanitation Treatment Systems

  1. Septic Tank Design: The three-chamber treatment method is recommended, with the first chamber for 60 days of fermentation, the second chamber for 30 days of sedimentation, and the third chamber's liquid feces directly usable for fertilization. For construction site toilets with a daily usage of a hundred people, each chamber should have a volume of no less than 2 cubic meters, and exhaust pipes should be installed to prevent methane accumulation.
  2. Fecal Waste Treatment Techniques: EM bacteria agents can be added to accelerate organic matter decomposition, and lime can be sprayed to adjust the pH value above 11 for sterilization. In cold northern regions, buried pipes should be wrapped with a 3-centimeter-thick polyurethane insulation layer to prevent freezing and cracking; in arid regions, waterless composting toilets can be adopted, achieving zero discharge through wood chip coverage.
  3. Special Environment Adaptation: For new public toilet construction projects in the Nada urban area, a single-story frame structure should be used, with a total site area of 120 square meters, a building area of 80 square meters, and a building height of 3.8 meters, including male and female restrooms, a third restroom, a management room, etc., and strictly adhering to relevant design specifications.
