Container Simple House Images

Admin September 15, 2026

Currently, there are no publicly available direct images of simple container houses, but their typical characteristics can be reconstructed through textual descriptions. The following provides an analysis from three aspects: the Nagoya Asian Games case, civilian renovation cases, and safety hazard cases.

Nagoya Asian Games Container Dormitories: Temporary and Cramped

To save costs, the Nagoya Asian Games utilized modular prefabricated container houses as athlete dormitories. These houses had a standard container appearance, measuring 13 meters in length and 3 meters in width, with internal wooden structures dividing them into independent units. Each unit was divided into two households, with three people per household, sharing one toilet, one shower room, and one washing machine among six people. The internal space was extremely cramped, with single beds only 195 centimeters long and aisles in double-bed rooms only wide enough for one person to pass sideways. Additionally, there was only one air conditioner, and the heat-insulating and airtight structure resulted in poor cooling effects. Insufficient nighttime lighting made the area appear gloomy, and security measures also raised concerns.

Civilian Container Renovation Houses: Balancing Functionality and Comfort

Some civilian container houses have achieved a balance between functionality and comfort through reasonable design. For example, a couple transformed a 15-square-meter container into a "mini villa" with a deformable open design, equipped with a linear kitchen, custom foldable beds, open storage, and a stove. In another case, a 30-square-meter container expanded its activity space through a hydraulic deck design, with an internal layout including a main living room, kitchen, and bathroom, and incorporating artificial boards with thermal insulation materials. These renovations improved the living experience by optimizing the layout, adding functional areas, and selecting eco-friendly materials.

Safety Hazard Cases: Prominent Fire and Structural Risks

Container houses pose serious safety hazards if illegal materials are used or if the design is improper. For example, some temporary buildings on construction sites use flammable sandwich materials such as polystyrene and polyurethane foam, which burn rapidly and produce toxic substances in fires, making them difficult to extinguish. Fires in container简易 houses in Linping District, Hangzhou in 2025, and container mobile homes in Binhai New Area, Tianjin in 2018 both resulted in property damage and even casualties. Additionally, insufficient spacing between container houses and improper management of heat and fire sources can exacerbate risks.
