Container House Tile Roof

Admin September 15, 2026

Common types, construction key points, and maintenance methods for container house tile roofs are as follows:

Roof Types and Materials

Container house tile roofs typically use metal materials, such as galvanized container corrugated sheets (corrugated panels), which have high strength, corrosion resistance, waterproofing, and fireproofing properties. These are commonly used materials for container roofs and side panels. Additionally, some container houses may use asphalt roofs, UPVC roof panels, and other materials, with the specific choice depending on design requirements, budget, and usage environment. For example, triangular roof structures may combine metal panels with translucent materials to ensure both shelter and natural light introduction.

Construction Plan Key Points

  1. Foundation Treatment: Before constructing the container roof, ensure that the container structure is stable, without deformation or damage. If used for fixed buildings, avoid hardening the ground or constructing permanent foundations to prevent being classified as illegal construction.
  2. Waterproofing Treatment: Applying waterproof adhesive to the roof is a crucial step to extend its service life. It should evenly cover all seams and edges to prevent rainwater penetration. Some designs may use double-layer roofs or drainage channels to enhance waterproofing performance.
  3. Ventilation Design: In tropical or humid regions, triangular roof structures can be adopted. Through a design that combines top metal panel sheltering, translucent part light transmission, and lower steel panel louver ventilation, it balances shelter and ventilation needs, avoiding heat accumulation.
  4. Load-Bearing and Fixing: Based on container specifications (e.g., a 20-foot container can bear 25 tons, and a 40-foot container can bear 45 tons), reasonably plan the weight of additional roof structures (such as solar panels, greening layers) and ensure that the fixing components are secure to prevent detachment caused by strong winds or earthquakes.

Maintenance and Precautions

  1. Regular Inspection: Inspect the roof waterproof layer, seams, and fixing components every six months, and promptly repair any cracks or loose parts.
  2. Cleaning and Maintenance: Remove snow, fallen leaves, and other debris from the roof to prevent long-term accumulation from causing corrosion or drainage blockage.
  3. Compliant Use: If the container house is used for living or business operations, consult local authorities in advance to clarify the usage period and purpose to avoid being classified as illegal construction due to "substantial alteration of land use."
  4. Flexible Relocation: One of the advantages of container houses is their mobility. After the project ends, they can be relocated to a new site via trailers, reducing the cost of repeated construction.
