Special Paint for Container Houses
Admin September 15, 2026
Special paint for container houses should be selected based on the usage scenario, anti-corrosion requirements, and environmental protection needs. Common types include epoxy, acrylic, polyurethane, and fluorocarbon paints, with some products supporting customization services.

1. Classification by Coating Structure
- Three-Layer Coating System
- Primer: Primarily epoxy zinc-rich primer, which prevents substrate corrosion through the cathodic protection effect of zinc powder, suitable for high-corrosion environments such as maritime containers.
- Intermediate Coat: Epoxy mica iron intermediate coat is used to enhance coating thickness and shielding properties, improving overall anti-corrosion performance.
- Topcoat: Commonly used acrylic, polyurethane, or fluorocarbon topcoats. Among them, fluorocarbon topcoat has a salt spray resistance of over 2000 hours and excellent abrasion resistance, suitable for long-distance transportation containers; acrylic topcoat is applied to land transportation containers due to its cost-effectiveness.
- Two-Layer Coating System
- Primer + Topcoat Combination: Such as alkyd primer paired with alkyd topcoat, or acrylic primer paired with acrylic topcoat, suitable for inland transportation scenarios with lower corrosion risks, simplifying the construction process and reducing costs.
2. Classification by Functional Characteristics
- High Weather Resistance
- Fluorocarbon topcoat achieves high and low-temperature resistance (-40℃~80℃), UV resistance, and湿热 resistance through a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) resin system, ensuring long-term use without fading or chalking in extreme climates.
- Quick Renovation
- Single-component acrylic paint does not require the addition of a curing agent, supporting roller coating, brush coating, and airless spraying. Its surface drying time is ≤30 minutes, and its hard drying time is ≤6 hours, significantly shortening the renovation period for containers while being compatible with old coatings and carbon steel substrates.
- Environmentally Friendly Water-Based
- Container-specific water-based alkyd primers, water-based acrylic topcoats, etc., meet environmental protection requirements with low VOC and heavy metal-free formulations, producing no irritating odors during construction, suitable for inhabited containers and scenarios with high indoor air quality requirements.
3. Classification by Application Area
- Exterior Surface: Requires salt spray resistance, abrasion resistance, and weather resistance, with fluorocarbon or polyurethane topcoats recommended.
- Interior Surface: Must comply with food hygiene and safety requirements, typically using epoxy topcoats to form a non-toxic and odorless protective layer.
- Chassis: For resistance to seawater impact and salt spray erosion, modified epoxy chassis paint or asphalt paint with high adhesion is selected.
