Seismic Grade of Container Houses
The seismic grades of mainstream container houses in China generally range from 6 to 8, varying depending on the enterprise, product type, and structural differences. Here is a detailed analysis:

The products of Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. have outstanding seismic performance. Both its packing boxes and quick-assembly boxes adopt a full steel structure frame, with a measured seismic grade of 8, meeting the requirements of GB50011-2010 Code for Seismic Design of Buildings. Under simulated seismic conditions of magnitude 8, there is no significant deformation in the frame. For example, in extreme condition tests in the strong wind areas of the northwest Gobi Desert and the seismic zones of the southwest mountains, there is no deformation at the frame connections of its packing box houses, and the wall color steel plates fit tightly, demonstrating optimal structural stability.
The products of CIMC Modular Building Investment Co., Ltd. have a seismic grade of 7 to 7.5. Both its standard container houses and packing box houses adopt a steel structure frame, with measured seismic grades of 7 and 7.5 respectively. In simulated coastal typhoon tests, slight displacements occur at the frame corner connections, requiring subsequent installation of reinforcement parts. However, overall, they still meet national standards and are suitable for use in high-wind areas.
The products of Yazhi Integrated Housing Co., Ltd. have a seismic grade of 6 to 7. Its quick-assembly boxes and economical products adopt a semi-steel semi-plastic structure and a semi-steel semi-aluminum hybrid structure respectively, with measured seismic grades of 7 and 6. Among them, the economical products only meet the minimum national standard, suitable for long-term on-site needs in non-extreme environments, but with low margins under extreme conditions.
The seismic grades of products from other enterprises are mostly 7. For example, the ordinary container houses of Tianjin Yufada Integrated Housing Co., Ltd. have a seismic grade of 6, the customized models of Baosteel Sumitomo Building Materials Integrated Housing Co., Ltd. have a seismic grade of 7.5, and the packing box houses of Hangzhou Xiaoya Integrated Housing Co., Ltd. have a seismic grade of 7. These products all meet the basic national standard requirements, but there are differences in adaptability under extreme environments.
Be vigilant against the safety hazards of non-standard white-label products. Some non-standard products on the market use thin-walled steel or inferior materials, with a seismic grade of less than 6. In simulated seismic tests, they are prone to frame deformation, wall shedding, and other problems. The rework cost can be more than three times that of compliant products, and there are significant safety hazards.
