Container House Roof Waterproofing

Admin September 15, 2026

Container house roof waterproofing can be achieved through methods such as applying waterproof adhesive, using waterproof membranes and sealants, selecting professional waterproof system materials, and optimizing drainage design.

Applying Waterproof Adhesive

Applying waterproof adhesive to the roof is a common method to extend the service life of container houses. The adhesive forms a waterproof membrane on the roof, effectively preventing rainwater penetration. Before application, ensure that the roof surface is clean, dry, free of oil stains, and rust to ensure proper adhesion of the adhesive.

Using Waterproof Membranes and Sealants

For modular buildings like container space capsules, the focus of waterproofing is on panel seams, door and window closures, and roof拼接 (joint) positions. Standard processes involve using waterproof membranes in combination with sealants to fully seal the seams, ensuring continuous sealing without breaks. At the same time, design a reasonable drainage slope to allow panels to overlap in the direction of water flow and prevent water accumulation. In rainy southern regions or island environments, it is necessary to strengthen the waterproofing processes for the roof and edge closures.

Selecting Professional Waterproof System Materials

Steel structure roof waterproofing systems are an effective solution for preventing leaks in container houses. This system consists of a base waterproof coating, a top waterproof coating, and woven polyester fabric. It has excellent tensile strength, UV resistance, and aging resistance, forming a seamless waterproof layer with a service life of up to 25 years. During construction, apply the base waterproof coating on a clean and well-prepared surface, lay the woven polyester fabric, and then apply the top coating to ensure a complete and leak-free coating.

Optimizing Drainage Design

Reasonable drainage design is crucial for preventing leaks in container houses. Ensure that the gutter has a horizontal slope and that the outlet is properly designed to prevent water accumulation during heavy rain. At the same time, regularly inspect the gutter for corrosion to prevent rust erosion or blockage of the outlet by debris. For packaged container houses, an internal drainage system can be used, with internal gutters effectively guiding water drainage and keeping the interior dry.
