Container House Roof Structure

Admin September 15, 2026

The roof structure of container houses typically adopts a self-balancing system, composite construction, or special design forms, with the specific structure varying according to the purpose and design requirements. Here are several common roof structure forms of container houses and their characteristics:

Self-Balancing System Roof Structure

Some container houses use high-strength weather-resistant steel (such as Q355B grade) as the main frame of the container body, forming a self-balancing system through rigid connections between corner fittings and side beams. The longitudinal corrugated plates on the top of the container body not only bear the roof load but also disperse stress through their corrugated geometric shape to avoid local buckling. This design eliminates the need for additional reinforcement members, reduces material usage, and ensures structural stability.

Composite Construction Roof Structure

The envelope structures of some container houses adopt composite construction, such as a three-layer composite construction of "rock wool - air layer - galvanized aluminum sheet". The rock wool layer has a thickness controlled between 75 mm and 100 mm, with a low thermal conductivity. The middle air layer inhibits convective heat transfer through a closed cavity. This construction reduces the risk of condensation in low-temperature environments, extends the service life of the steel structure, and provides good thermal insulation performance.

Special Design Roof Structure

  • Triangular Roof Structure: Suitable for tropical climates, the top metal plate protects against heat and rain, the middle translucent part allows natural light to penetrate, and the lower steel plate shutters can block rainwater and strong light while maintaining ventilation.
  • Arched Roof Structure: Using steel frames or aluminum alloy brackets as the main supporting structures, they are bent according to the roof arc to ensure flatness and stability. Adding crossbeams or steel plates can enhance the load-bearing capacity, suitable for scenarios requiring large spans.
  • A-Frame Roof Structure: Combining metal plates, translucent materials, and steel plate shutters, it addresses different climatic and heat transfer issues, providing protection, daylighting, and ventilation functions.
