Container House Roof Leakage

For roof leakage in container houses, first identify the cause, then take targeted measures, and if necessary, select appropriate waterproof materials for repair.

Leakage Cause Identification

• Fastener Issues: During installation and use, stepping on the roof of the container house can cause fasteners to loosen, and the aging of fastener waterproof gaskets can lead to leakage at the fastener locations.
• Material and Construction Issues: If the waterproof materials selected during the construction of the mobile house are unqualified or the waterproofing treatment is unreasonable, leakage may occur as the container mobile house ages.
• Panel Deformation Issues: When holes are made in the panels of the mobile house for installing fans, exhaust pipes, etc., if the waterproofing treatment of the surrounding cracks is inadequate; during use, factors such as external conditions, wind loads, snow loads, and thermal expansion and contraction can cause the panels of the mobile house to deform, widening the cracks at the joints and damaging the original waterproofing treatment, resulting in leakage.
• Gutter Issues: If the gutter of the mobile house has no horizontal slope and the gutter outlet is poorly designed, during heavy rain, the accumulated water in the gutter cannot be discharged and will flow back into the inner eaves trough of the gutter; if the gutter anti-corrosion treatment is inadequate during construction, the gutter will rust and erode, or debris blocking the outlet can also cause leakage or water backflow.

Treatment Measures

• For Fastener Issues: Check and tighten the fasteners and replace the aged waterproof gaskets.
• For Material and Construction Issues: Re-select qualified waterproof materials and carry out waterproofing treatment in accordance with standard requirements.
• For Panel Deformation Issues: Re-waterproof the cracks around the holes, repair the deformed panels, and strengthen the waterproofing measures at the joints.
• For Gutter Issues: Adjust the gutter slope and design the outlet reasonably; carry out anti-corrosion treatment on the gutter and clean debris and other foreign objects from the outlet.
