What Are the Raw Materials for Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

The raw materials for container houses mainly include steel, enclosure panels, connecting parts and accessories, door and window materials, floor and ceiling materials, as well as anti-corrosion and surface treatment materials, etc.

  1. Steel: It is the main structural support material for container houses, including high-strength weather-resistant steel (such as Q355B grade), hot-dip galvanized square tubes, etc. These steels have high strength and corrosion resistance, ensuring the structural safety of the houses. For example, high-strength weather-resistant steel is used for the main frame of the container body, and hot-dip galvanized square tubes are used for the overall frame, forming a composite structure with high compressive strength through the metallurgical bonding of the zinc alloy coating and the steel.

  2. Enclosure panels: These include wall panels and roof panels. Commonly used materials are orange-peel-patterned color-steel composite panels, rock wool sandwich panels, polyurethane sandwich panels, etc. The orange-peel-patterned color-steel composite panels enhance the rigidity of the panels through a special embossing process and are filled with materials such as Class A fire-resistant rock wool to improve the fire resistance, compressive strength, and thermal insulation performance of the wall panels. The rock wool sandwich panels adopt a three-layer composite structure of "rock wool - air layer - aluminum-zinc-coated steel plate", which has good thermal performance.

  3. Connecting parts and accessories: These include wedge-shaped locks, high-strength bolts, hinges, axles, etc. These accessories play an important role in the connections and folding parts of container houses, ensuring the stability and dismountability of the houses. For example, the wedge-shaped locks are made of 45# steel through heat treatment and have a self-locking effect; the hinges and axles are made of hot-dip galvanized and stainless steel materials respectively, taking into account both support strength and wear resistance.

  4. Door and window materials: Aluminum alloy and glass are commonly used. Aluminum alloy doors and windows have the advantages of being lightweight, aesthetically pleasing, and corrosion-resistant, while also having good thermal insulation and heat insulation performance. Glass is used for doors, windows, and observation windows to increase the lighting and view of the houses.

  5. Floor and ceiling materials: Such as Class A fire-resistant magnesium oxide boards, which use magnesium oxide cement and glass fibers as the main raw materials and have excellent fire resistance, water resistance, and load-bearing performance.

  6. Anti-corrosion and surface treatment materials: These include epoxy zinc-rich primers, polyurethane topcoats, etc., which are used to extend the service life of steel, resist wind and sand erosion, and salt spray corrosion.
