Heating Container Houses in Winter

Admin September 15, 2026

Heating container houses in winter can be achieved by selecting appropriate insulation materials, adding insulation layers, optimizing window and door designs, paying attention to detail handling, and adding temperature control equipment. Details are as follows:

Selecting appropriate insulation materials: Common insulation materials include polystyrene boards, polyurethane foam boards, rock wool boards, EPS (expanded polystyrene) boards, silicate wool, and foam polystyrene boards. These materials have low thermal conductivity and good insulation performance, effectively blocking heat transfer. For example, rock wool boards not only provide insulation but also fire resistance. When installed in the middle of the walls of color-steel houses, they can significantly raise the indoor temperature. After use in activity board houses on construction sites in mountainous areas of Guizhou, the indoor temperature can be 8 - 10℃ higher than the outdoor temperature.

Adding insulation layers: During the design of container houses, insulation layers can be added to the exterior wall surfaces or interior walls, such as external insulation layers or interior insulation boards, forming an effective thermal insulation barrier, reducing heat transfer, and maintaining stable indoor temperatures.

Optimizing window and door designs: Double or triple-glazed windows with low thermal conductivity and good insulation performance can be used. At the same time, sealing strips can be added to the edges of windows and doors to reduce heat leakage and improve insulation effects.

Paying attention to detail handling of the insulation system: Details such as the splicing and connection parts of insulation materials and the integration of insulation layers with the container structure are crucial. At the splicing and connection points, appropriate sealing materials should be used to prevent heat leakage. At the integration points of the insulation layer and the container structure, professional construction methods and materials should be employed to ensure sealing and structural stability.

Adding temperature control equipment: Facilities such as air conditioners, entrance air curtains, graphene floor heating, and small electric heaters can be added to regulate indoor temperatures. For example, in engineering projects in humid southern regions, turning on a small electric heater at night can heat up the room within half an hour, and it does not need to be on all day, saving a significant amount of electricity costs.
