Container Houses for Several Hundred Yuan

Admin September 17, 2026

Container houses do indeed exist for several hundred yuan, but the situation needs to be discussed on a case-by-case basis, as follows:

I. Pricing per square meter: Cases below 300 yuan/square meter When priced per square meter, container houses typically range from 300 yuan to 4,200 yuan/square meter. Among them, the cheapest type is temporary housing for construction sites, which are mostly built with second-hand panels, have a simple structure, and are primarily used for short-term living or temporary office purposes. For example, an 18-square-meter temporary house for a construction site costs just over 5,000 yuan in total, translating to less than 300 yuan per square meter. The cost advantage of such houses mainly lies in material recycling and simplified design, but they have weaker insulation and soundproofing performance, a shorter service life, and are suitable for temporary scenarios with low living condition requirements.

II. Pricing per unit: Customized products for several hundred yuan When priced per individual container house, the price range can extend from several hundred yuan to over a hundred thousand yuan. Among them, some customized container movable panel houses can cost as low as 500 yuan. These products are usually simply customized for specific needs, such as being used solely as tool storage rooms, temporary guard posts, or simple warehouses, with relatively single functions. They may only include a basic framework and a few partitions, and may not even be equipped with doors, windows, or interior decoration. Their low cost stems from simplified materials (such as using thin steel plates or recycled materials), simplified processes (such as reducing welding points or anti-corrosion treatments), and economies of scale (mass production of standardized components).

III. Core factors contributing to price differences The price fluctuations of container houses are mainly influenced by materials, functions, and design complexity. Low-priced products mostly use second-hand materials, simplified structures, or basic functions, while high-priced products may use brand-new steel, environmentally friendly panels, and integrate water and electricity systems, insulation layers, decorative surfaces, etc., and may even have features such as modular assembly and mobility. Therefore, container houses priced at 'several hundred yuan' usually correspond to temporary and functional needs, rather than long-term living scenarios. If comfort, durability, or compliance (such as building codes and fire safety standards) are required, costs will rise significantly.

Summary: Container houses do exist within a price range of several hundred yuan, but it is important to clarify that their applicable scenarios are temporary and low-requirement uses. If long-term use or living quality is pursued, higher-priced products need to be selected.
