Container House Door Size

Admin September 15, 2026

The sizes of container house doors vary depending on their type and purpose. Common standard sizes include single doors measuring 800 mm in width × 2000 mm in height, double doors measuring 1600 mm in width × 2000 mm in height, and the internationally standardized net opening size of the front door of a 20-foot container, which is 2198 mm in height × 2168 mm in width (including frame).

I. Standard Sizes of Single and Double Doors
Single and double doors for container houses are the most commonly used types in daily life. The standard size for a single door is 800 mm in width and 2000 mm in height, suitable for most standard container houses, meeting the needs of daily personnel entry and exit while providing basic security. Double doors are suitable for scenarios requiring larger openings, such as moving large items or for office and storage purposes, with a standard size of 1600 mm in width and 2000 mm in height. These doors are relatively common in container houses, especially in environments requiring frequent loading and unloading of goods.

II. Sizes of Internationally Standardized Container Front Doors
For internationally standardized 20-foot dry cargo containers, the net opening size of the front door is 2198 mm in height and 2168 mm in width (including frame). This size is a standard parameter set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), taking into account engineering requirements such as structural load-bearing, lifting clearance, and sealing edges, ensuring forklift passage and cargo handling efficiency. For example, in renovated spaces, this size is often used as a 'size anchor point' for designing doorways for bathrooms, gas rooms, or temporary partitions.

III. Customized and Non-Standard Doors
In addition to standard sizes, container house doors can also be customized according to specific needs. For example, certain scenarios may require taller or wider doors to accommodate special purposes, such as moving large equipment or barrier-free design. Furthermore, the door sizes of non-standard container houses (such as custom specifications of 3 m × 6 m, 3 m × 8 m, etc.) can also be flexibly adjusted, with widths ranging from 2.5 m to 3 m and heights ranging from 2.6 m to 2.8 m, depending on communication with the supplier.
