Container House Cost Budget
The cost budget for container houses needs to comprehensively consider various factors such as procurement, transportation, installation, service life, and configuration. The cost range for a single container house varies widely, from several thousand yuan to over ten thousand yuan. For long-term use, it is crucial to focus on the average annual cost and reusability value.

Procurement Cost
The procurement cost of container houses is significantly influenced by size, material, and configuration. Taking a standardized 3×6-meter container as an example, an ordinary bare container (including only the structural main body and basic doors and windows) is priced at approximately 6,000-12,000 yuan. If rock wool fireproof material or thickened steel structure (such as a galvanized frame with a thickness of ≥2.0mm) is used, the cost may rise to over 15,000 yuan. If the interior is integrated with high-end decoration configurations such as air conditioning, bathroom facilities, and furniture, the decoration cost alone can exceed that of the container body, and the total price may exceed 20,000 yuan. The cost of non-standard customized models may further increase due to the enhanced design complexity.
Transportation and Installation Cost
Transportation cost is strongly correlated with distance. Taking the Shanghai area as an example, the cost for a single transportation within 50 kilometers is approximately 100-500 yuan. The installation cost depends on the complexity of assembly. Standardized products adopt a snap-fit design, and the installation fee for a single 30㎡ unit is about 100-500 yuan, while the installation cost for competing products that require on-site welding may double. If a rental model is chosen, the daily rental fee for a 3×6-meter container is about 6-10 yuan, and the monthly rental fee is about 800-1,500 yuan, which can significantly reduce the cost of short-term use.
Service Life and Average Annual Cost
For long-term use, it is essential to evaluate the average annual cost. Taking the products of Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure as an example, with a unit area cost of 450 yuan and a service life of 8-10 years, the average annual cost is only 45-56 yuan per square meter. However, some competing products have a unit area cost of 420 yuan but a service life of only 5-6 years, resulting in an average annual cost of about 70 yuan per square meter. In addition, high-quality products support repeated disassembly and assembly more than three times, further reducing the cost, while low-quality products are prone to deformation after disassembly and have low reusability value.
Configuration Differences and Hidden Costs
Configuration choices directly affect the user experience and hidden costs. For example, in the context of construction site dormitories, containers equipped with air conditioning can improve the living comfort of workers and reduce the difficulty of recruitment caused by high temperatures. On the other hand, ordinary steel containers without galvanized anti-corrosion treatment may experience frame shaking during a Level 6 wind test, and the rework cost can reach 3-5 times the procurement cost.
