Container House Circuit Renovation
The circuit renovation of container houses should be systematically carried out from three aspects: distribution box adjustment, circuit planning, and construction specifications, taking into account their modular characteristics, while also considering safety and practicality.

I. Distribution Box Renovation Requires Targeted Optimization
The renovation of the distribution box in container houses should be adjusted according to the original configuration and power consumption needs. If the number of circuits in the original distribution box is insufficient (e.g., lighting and sockets share the same circuit), additional branches should be added and the switch arrangement optimized. If the location is unreasonable (e.g., blocked by furniture), the box can be replaced and the internal wiring rearranged. During renovation, the incoming lines should be retained, and modifications to public power supply facilities such as the main switch and incoming cables should be avoided to prevent damage to the original power supply system's safety. For example, in Qingdao, due to high air humidity, distribution boxes and electrical components with good moisture resistance should be selected, and the grounding system should be reliable.
II. Circuit Planning Should Be Combined with the Structural Characteristics of Container Houses
- Wiring Method: Container houses often adopt the breakpoint renovation method, using the original wiring to lead to newly added sockets or switches. For example, newly added sockets can be connected to the original sockets by slotting along the floor to reduce the number of slots. If there is no suspended ceiling on the ceiling, shallow slots should be chiseled to bury yellow wax tubes for wiring to avoid exposing the wires and affecting aesthetics and safety.
- Material Selection: Wires should match specifications according to power (e.g., 2.5mm² for lighting, 4mm² or 6mm² for air conditioners) and flame-retardant wires should be selected. Wiring tubes should preferably be made of PVC or galvanized steel pipes to ensure insulation and corrosion resistance.
- Functional Expansion: If additional areas such as bathrooms and kitchens are required, separate circuits should be set up and leakage protection devices installed. At the same time, S-shaped drainage outlets and waterproof trays should be reserved to ensure the separation of water and electricity.
III. Construction Specifications Should Strictly Follow Industry Standards
- Slotting Requirements: The width and depth of the wire slots should comply with regulations, and the bottom of the grooves should be flat to avoid damaging the main body of the container's steel structure.
- 3D Modeling Assistance: Use 3D modeling technology to plan the water and electricity wiring in advance to reduce construction errors and ensure that the wiring matches the modular structure of the container.
- Acceptance Standards: After the renovation is completed, the insulation resistance of each circuit should be tested, the grounding continuity should be checked, and a simulated humid environment (e.g., spray test) should be conducted to verify the moisture resistance to ensure compliance with residential safety requirements.
