Container House Accident Handling
Admin September 13, 2026
Container house accident handling requires targeted measures based on the type of accident. Common accidents include fire, crane overturning and collapse, and similar incidents. Specific response methods are as follows:

Fire accident response:
- Immediately report the fire and evacuate personnel: After discovering a fire, call 119 right away and organize on-site personnel to evacuate to a safe area to avoid secondary injuries from inhaling toxic smoke or building collapse. For example, in a container temporary housing fire in Tianjin Binhai New Area, search and rescue found two trapped people, but due to the rapid spread of the fire they ultimately could not be saved, highlighting the importance of timely evacuation.
- Cut off power and ignition sources: If the fire is caused by an electrical fault (for example, a fire on Yinnan Road in Langfang where a circuit breaker line fault ignited weeds), immediately cut off the power to prevent the fire from spreading via electrical current.
- Cooperate with fire rescue: After firefighters arrive, provide information on the building structure and interior contents (such as flammable and explosive materials) to help develop a firefighting plan. For example, in a fire in Hangzhou Linping District, firefighters successfully recovered $20,833 in cash and important documents stored by the homeowner from the debris, relying on a rapid assessment of the scene.
- Post-incident investigation and compensation: After the fire is extinguished, the fire department should investigate the cause and determine the responsible party. If property losses are involved, claims can be filed with insurers or liable parties based on the investigation findings.
Crane overturning and collapse accident response:
- Activate the emergency plan: After an accident occurs, immediately activate the enterprise or park emergency plan, organize rescue forces to search for trapped people, and contact medical, fire, and other departments for coordinated response. For example, in an accident at a prefabricated component plant at Dongjiangkou in Dongguan, a shed collapse caused 18 deaths and 33 injuries, requiring multi-agency coordinated rescue.
- Protect the scene and collect evidence: Seal off the accident area to prevent unrelated personnel from entering and destroying evidence. At the same time, safety supervision authorities should intervene to investigate and analyze the cause of the crane overturn (such as equipment failure or improper operation) to support liability determination.
- Accountability and corrective action: Based on the investigation report (such as the "Dongguan Dongjiangkou Prefabricated Component Plant '4.13' Accident Investigation Report" published by the Guangdong Provincial Safety Supervision Bureau), hold relevant responsible parties accountable and urge enterprises to remediate safety hazards to prevent similar accidents from recurring.
General principles: Regardless of accident type, prioritize safeguarding human life; property protection comes second. In daily operations, strengthen safety inspections of container houses—such as electrical wiring and structural stability—and regularly organize emergency drills to improve the ability to respond to emergencies.
