Quality of Portable Toilets at Construction Sites

Admin October 11, 2026

The quality of portable toilets at construction sites should be comprehensively evaluated from four dimensions: structure and materials, sewage discharge systems, supporting facilities and functions, and certification and implementation standards.

Structure and materials are the fundamental guarantees. High-quality portable toilets often use hot-dip galvanized steel pipes or steel structures for their main frames, which offer high strength, corrosion resistance, and wind pressure resistance. For example, the light steel structure frame of Anhui Zhisheng Environmental Protection has a main steel pipe wall thickness of 2.5mm. Third-party testing shows it has a wind resistance rating of Level 10, with no deformation or weld cracking after experiencing severe convective weather. Shandong Hengtong's product has a wall thickness of 2mm and a wind resistance rating of Level 8, with slight frame displacement after severe convection. For wall materials, metal carved panels and color-steel composite panels are commonly used for exterior walls, while interior walls often use stone plastic panels, aluminum-plastic panels, and other easy-to-clean, moisture-resistant materials. The floor requires waterproof and anti-slip treatments to ensure safety and durability during use.

The sewage discharge system is the core technology. Depending on the usage environment, sewage discharge types include water-flush direct discharge, waterless packing/microbial degradation, and recirculating water flushing. Water-flush direct discharge requires connection to municipal sewage pipes, with quality standards focusing on stable flushing systems and water conservation. Waterless packing/microbial degradation is suitable for locations without sewage pipe networks, requiring good sealing, no odor leakage, and high degradation efficiency. Recirculating water flushing uses biological treatment technology to purify and recycle flushing water, necessitating guaranteed water purification effects and stable recirculation systems.

Supporting facilities and functions must meet construction site needs. Basic configurations include exhaust fans, lighting fixtures, sinks, mirrors, shelves, paper towel holders, and hooks. The ventilation and exhaust system should effectively prevent odor accumulation, and electrical wiring should be moisture-proof, waterproof, and grounded. For construction site scenarios, additional modules are required, such as waste collection and treatment modules (e.g., vacuum suction, biological degradation, packing), space environment maintenance modules (forced exhaust systems, lighting systems), cleaning and disinfection supply modules (handwashing facilities, hand sanitizer, disinfectant dispensing points), and structural safety and accessibility modules (stable structural design, windproof, anti-slip, and fall prevention details, barrier-free facilities).

Certification and implementation standards are the basis for quality. Production should comply with national standards such as GB/T 18092 - 2000 Non-flush Sanitary Toilets and CJ/T 378 - 2011 Portable Toilets, ensuring that products meet basic requirements for safety, environmental protection, and functionality during design, production, and testing.
