Manufacturing of Portable Toilets for Construction Sites

Admin October 05, 2026

There are various manufacturing methods for portable toilets used on construction sites, including using water storage tanks, water storage barrels, or welding an overall frame with square tubes.

Making a portable toilet using a water storage tank: First, fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of the拖板 (trailer board) to ensure mobility. Then, place the water storage tank and use an angle grinder to cut the top of the tank to create an open-top tank for easy installation of facilities later. Stack two open-top water storage tanks and fix them with self-tapping screws to increase the internal space. Next, cut a rectangular opening as the doorway for easy access. Drill a hole in the floor inside the tank and install a drain elbow and water pipe to ensure smooth sewage discharge. Secure the toilet and apply sealant to prevent leaks. Install faucets, washbasins, showers, and other facilities to meet basic hygiene needs. Finally, make a door using wooden boards and hinges and install a door handle to complete the overall structure.

Making a portable toilet using a water storage barrel: Although the specific manufacturing process is not detailed, the general idea is similar to that of using a water storage tank, considering key factors such as mobility, sewage discharge, and installation of sanitary facilities.

Using square tubes to weld an overall frame: Taking a 3-meter-wide and 6-meter-long square tube toilet as an example, the overall frame is welded using 10*10 1.5-thick square tubes to ensure structural stability. The left side is designed as a men's toilet, and the right side as a women's toilet to meet the needs of different genders. It is equipped with a special door for the container house and a ceramic washbasin to enhance the user experience. The entire floor is covered with anti-slip flooring to prevent people from slipping and ensure safety.

In addition, portable toilets are generally composed of fecal sewage storage tanks (or fecal sewage treatment devices), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. They can be classified into single-structure portable toilets and composite-structure portable toilets according to their structural forms; into hoisting and handling portable toilets, powered and towed portable toilets according to their mobility methods; and into water-flush and non-water-flush suction portable toilets, circulating water-flush portable toilets, and dry-packing portable toilets according to their sewage treatment methods.
