Construction Site Mobile Toilet Layout Plan
Admin October 08, 2026
The layout of mobile toilets at construction sites requires a comprehensive assessment of needs, site selection and layout, installation and maintenance, etc. The specific plan is as follows:

I. Preliminary Needs Assessment and Plan Design
- Headcount Estimation: Determine the number of toilet stalls based on the number of construction workers, project duration, and peak periods. It is recommended to allocate one standard toilet stall for every 50 people. Since women use toilets more frequently, the ratio of female to male toilet stalls should ideally be 1:1.5. For example, for a construction site with 200 workers, at least 3 toilet stalls should be provided if calculated at a rate of one stall per 80 people.
- Site Survey: Choose a location that is flat, has convenient drainage, and is close to the construction area. Avoid material transportation routes, work areas, and underground utilities (such as cables and gas pipes).
- Special Requirements: If barrier-free facilities or cooling designs for high-temperature areas are needed, communicate with the rental provider in advance to customize the plan.
II. Site Selection and Layout Planning
- Zoning and Stall Allocation:
- Construction Area: Place toilet stalls near high-activity areas such as tower cranes and steel processing zones, allocating one stall for every 50-80 people.
- Living Area: Arrange toilet stalls near dormitory areas, with a recommended male-to-female ratio of 1:2. Keep a distance of 30-50 meters from dormitories and canteens to avoid odor interference.
- Office Area: Set up 1-2 independent toilet stalls (separated for men and women) in the management area.
- Transportation Convenience: Ensure that the toilet stalls are no more than 50 meters from the nearest work area, close to temporary roads, and avoid low-lying areas prone to waterlogging and high-voltage power lines.
- Safety and Privacy: Keep toilet stalls away from food areas such as canteens and water points (at least 5 meters away). Provide lighting facilities for night construction.
III. Installation and Compliance Requirements
- Foundation Layout: Ensure that the spacing between toilet stalls complies with fire safety regulations (at least 0.5 meters). The foundation should be compacted and poured with a C20 concrete垫层 (thickness of 10-15 centimeters), with a 2%-3% drainage slope towards the sewage outlet.
- Drainage System: Connect to temporary sewage pipes or septic tanks to prevent sewage overflow.
- Acceptance Standards: Check the integrity of facilities, ventilation performance, and clarity of signage to ensure compliance with the "Standards for the Installation of Urban Environmental Sanitation Facilities".
IV. Daily Maintenance and Emergency Response
- Cleaning Frequency: Clean at least once a day, increasing to twice a day during peak periods (such as summer), with a focus on disinfecting high-contact areas.
- Fault Response: The rental provider should commit to arriving on-site for repairs within 2 hours to avoid disrupting construction.
- Dynamic Adjustment: Adjust the number of toilet stalls based on changes in personnel or construction phases (such as during concrete pouring periods). Plan drainage facilities in advance for the rainy season.
V. Site Clearance and Cost Settlement
- Site Restoration: Clean up surrounding garbage and restore the ground to its original condition, ensuring no stains or damage.
- Cost Verification: Clarify costs for usage days, additional services (such as capacity expansion and repairs), and retain invoices and equipment return certificates.
