Mobile Toilets in Changji Scenic Areas

Admin October 12, 2026

Changji Prefecture has implemented a series of measures regarding mobile toilets in scenic areas to enhance tourism infrastructure and service quality.

In terms of specific allocation projects, in the 2024 Mobile Toilet (Prefabricated Toilet) Allocation Project for Key Tourist Routes (Second Batch), a batch of prefabricated mobile toilets was purchased for key tourist routes such as the southern mountainous area of Mulei County and the Tianshan No.1 Scenic Route in Qitai County. The project has a budget of 2,800,000 yuan, with a contract performance period requiring installation to be completed and accepted for use within three months from the date of contract signing. This measure effectively improves local tourism infrastructure and provides more convenient toilet facilities for tourists.

Regarding new construction plans, Changji Prefecture plans to build 15 new tourist toilets in 2025 and add 13 mobile toilets along the S101 Scenic Route. This plan aims to further expand the coverage of tourist toilets to meet the growing needs of tourists.

In terms of overall planning and measures, Changji Prefecture coordinates various resources to scientifically plan and reasonably arrange tourist toilets, ensuring that toilet layouts, types, and the number of toilet stalls meet standards. At the same time, it guides the construction and renovation units of tourist toilets to strictly adhere to the 2022 National Standards for Tourist Toilets, designing, constructing, and renovating according to requirements not lower than Class II standards. Additionally, it strengthens supervision and inspection of the hygiene, equipment, facilities, and services of tourist toilets across the prefecture to ensure they are clean, hygienic, and well-managed.

To further enhance the management level and service quality of tourist toilets, Changji Prefecture has also formulated the "Tourist Toilet Management Measures," clarifying job responsibilities to ensure that tourist toilet facilities and equipment are fully functional and clean. Meanwhile, a cleaning management system has been established, with dedicated personnel responsible for cleaning and daily maintenance. During peak tourist seasons, the number of toilet cleaning staff and cleaning frequency are increased, and guidance and分流 (diversion, here it means guiding tourists to different toilets to avoid overcrowding) work for toilet users are carried out to improve tourist satisfaction and comfort.

Furthermore, based on the existing 323 free public toilets in urban areas, the Changji Prefecture Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau has also installed signboards and guide signs, providing more user-friendly services. At the same time, it encourages public toilets in society, government agencies, and enterprises and institutions to be open to the public to address issues of insufficient toilet quantity and unreasonable distribution.
