Cement Prefabricated Wall Panels for Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

Cement prefabricated wall panels for houses mainly include three types: cement prefabricated panel walls, prefabricated concrete wall panels, and cement fence panels, each with its own characteristics and application scenarios.

Cement prefabricated panel walls: These are primarily made of Portland cement and steel reinforcement frames, pre-fabricated into panel structures using molds. They come in two types: solid and hollow. The hollow design reduces weight and cost, offering easy construction and lower expenses. Initially used in brick-and-mortar buildings, standard specifications include a maximum span of 4.2 meters, widths of 500mm or 600mm, and thicknesses of 120mm or 150mm. However, they suffer from poor thermal insulation, structural instability, weak load-bearing capacity, and cracking and leakage at panel joints. Currently, these panels are banned in the construction industry, with cast-in-place slabs becoming the mainstream alternative. Nevertheless, prefabricated concrete wall panels, as one of the prefabricated building components, are still used in some projects.

Prefabricated concrete wall panels: These are designed using BIM technology, combining factory production with on-site assembly. Their advantages include energy efficiency (external cladding panels use sandwich insulation systems, with outer leaf panels at least 6 cm thick and edge sealing with Class A fire-resistant materials), template savings (composite panels serve as floor slab bottom forms, and external cladding panels as one side of shear wall templates), shortened construction periods (factory production reduces on-site labor intensity, eliminating masonry and plastering processes), and improved quality (factory production ensures consistent reinforcement cover thickness and spacing). The construction process involves multiple steps such as surveying and setting out, verifying connecting reinforcement, and correcting misaligned reinforcement, making them suitable for prefabricated buildings.

Cement fence panels: These emerged in rural and township areas of China in the 2010s, primarily used for courtyards, livestock farms, and temporary project fencing. With a hollow structural design, standard panels measure 50 cm wide and 1.9 meters long, reinforced with internal steel bars, offering frost resistance and impact resistance. Fixed using pre-embedded column slots, construction efficiency can reach 100 - 150 meters per day, with costs only one-third of those for iron fences and no need for regular maintenance. Their production process has evolved from mold-layered prefabrication to mechanized pressing, using raw materials such as concrete, perlite, and cold-drawn steel wires, with a service life of up to 50 years. To improve the aesthetics of panel joints, two solutions have been developed: internal plastering with eaves and external painting, now covering multiple scenarios such as livestock farm isolation, grassland fencing, and construction sites.
