Can Mobile Toilets Be Discharged?
Admin October 03, 2026
Mobile toilets can discharge sewage, and there are various discharge methods, as detailed below:

Sewage Discharge Methods for Conventional Mobile Toilets
- Conventional Water-Flush Type: Requires connection to water supply and drainage pipes, with sewage discharged manually or automatically via sensors. The sewage is directed to a septic tank or municipal sewer network, suitable for environments with water access and relatively low construction costs. Its principle is similar to that of fixed toilets, but due to its mobility, the positions for water supply and drainage connections need to be planned in advance.
- Vacuum Sewage System: Utilizes negative pressure principles, with a vacuum pump drawing sewage and waste into a collection container. When the sewage level in the public toilet reaches a preset level, the vacuum pump automatically activates to quickly complete the discharge. This method is highly efficient, uses less water, and effectively prevents sewage leakage and odor diffusion, suitable for places with high hygiene requirements.
- Water-Storage Sewage System: Discharges waste into a storage tank through water flushing. When the sewage reaches a preset level, the flushing device automatically activates to flush the waste into the storage tank. The storage tank needs to be cleaned and replaced when full, suitable for places with sufficient water supply and easy cleaning, such as large event venues.
- Biodegradation Technology: Some mobile public toilets adopt this technology to convert organic matter in sewage into harmless substances before discharge. This method is environmentally friendly and reduces environmental pollution, suitable for areas with high environmental protection requirements.
Waste Treatment Systems for Mobile Toilet Vehicles
- Recirculating Water-Flush Type: Equipped with a clean water tank and a sewage tank, with built-in multi-stage physical filtration and biochemical disinfection water treatment units. The used flushing sewage is collected and treated in real-time, removing solid impurities and killing pathogens before being reused for flushing, forming a closed-loop cycle. Suitable for places with water scarcity or where sewage discharge is prohibited, such as deserts and mountainous areas.
- Packaging and Degradation Type: Abandons the traditional water-flushing mode. After using the toilet, the device automatically seals the excreta with biodegradable film material through mechanical devices and drops it into a collection container below for isolated storage. It may be supplemented with biological enzymes or desiccants for preliminary degradation and deodorization, achieving instant packaging of waste with 'zero water consumption and zero discharge', suitable for places without water supply or with extremely high environmental protection requirements.
- Microbial Degradation Type: Cultivates specific functional microbial communities in the treatment chamber of the device. These microbes use the excreta as a nutrient source for rapid decomposition, with the final products mainly being carbon dioxide, water vapor, and a very small amount of inorganic residues. No water flushing or chemical agents are required, reducing the volume and polluting nature of the waste, suitable for various environments, especially those with high hygiene and environmental protection requirements.
