Brick-Concrete House Cement Prefabricated Wall Panel
The cement prefabricated wall panels used early in brick-concrete houses have been banned, but prefabricated concrete wall panels are still used in some projects.

Early Cement Prefabricated Wall Panels
Early cement prefabricated wall panels were widely used in brick-concrete structures, reducing on-site bricklaying time through prefabricated production. They were mainly made of Portland cement and steel reinforcement frames and came in two types: solid and hollow. Hollow prefabricated panels could reduce weight and cost, offering the advantages of simple construction and lower costs. However, these wall panels had several issues:
- Poor thermal insulation: They struggled to meet modern building requirements for energy-saving insulation, increasing building energy consumption.
- Insufficient structural stability: Over long-term use, structural instability could affect building safety.
- Weak load-bearing capacity: They could not withstand heavy loads, limiting their application in construction.
- Cracking and leakage at panel joints: This affected building lifespan and living comfort.
Due to these problems, early cement prefabricated wall panels have been banned in the construction industry, and cast-in-place panels are now commonly used in brick-concrete structures instead of prefabricated ones.
Prefabricated Concrete Wall Panels
Prefabricated concrete wall panels are building prefabricated components still used in some projects. They offer several advantages:
- Fast construction: Prefabricated production significantly shortens construction cycles and improves efficiency.
- Durability: They have high strength and durability, ensuring long-term building use.
- Fire resistance, sound insulation, waterproofing, and impact resistance: They provide good safety and living environments for buildings.
- Lightweight and eco-friendly: They reduce building self-weight and meet environmental requirements.
- Thermal insulation: They effectively reduce heat transfer, lowering building energy consumption.
Prefabricated concrete wall panels are widely used in the exterior walls, interior walls, and roofs of commercial and residential buildings such as houses, offices, factories, and hotels. In prefabricated buildings, they are one of the "three panels," mainly serving as vertical or enclosure components, with matching horizontal components typically including composite slabs, composite beams, and prefabricated stairs.
