Bedroom Mobile Toilet Renovation

Admin September 26, 2026

If you don't want to make major changes for the bedroom mobile toilet renovation, you can use a mobile toilet for a 'minor renovation'. If it involves large-scale renovation, you need to pay special attention to issues such as drainage pipes, waterproofing, neighbor relations, and wall renovation.

Drainage Pipe Issues

In old buildings, bathrooms often have inter-floor drainage, with the main drainage pipe located on the ceiling of the bathroom downstairs. If you convert a bedroom into a bathroom, connecting new drainage pipes is inevitable. If the pipes run along the floor, a slope must be maintained to prevent blockages. Common solutions include: using flat pipes covered with tiles, but if the renovated area is far from the bedroom downstairs, creating a slope is difficult, increasing the likelihood of blockages; raising the overall height of the bathroom to bury the drainage pipes, but this will make the bathroom higher than other rooms; drilling holes in the floor and modifying the pipes on the ceiling of the neighbor's bathroom downstairs, which can easily lead to neighbor disputes.

Waterproofing Issues

As long as waterproofing is done to a qualified standard in water-using areas and a closed-water test is conducted, waterproofing problems can largely be avoided. After proper indoor waterproofing, even if there is water seepage or leakage, it will first affect your own home and only impact neighbors after soaking your own place. However, it is still necessary to ensure that waterproofing construction is carried out according to specifications and that qualified waterproofing materials are used to reduce the risk of leakage.

Neighbor Relations Issues

If neighbors disagree with the renovation, it may be due to feng shui considerations or psychological discomfort. You can take targeted measures to address their concerns. For example, if they are concerned about feng shui, you can hire a feng shui master to resolve it for them; if they are worried about noise, you can lay carpets in the usage area to block noise. If neighbor relations were originally good, you can give gifts, apologize, and appeal to their emotions and reason. If neighbors still disagree, you can consider providing some financial compensation.

Wall Renovation Issues

If you want to expand the bathroom area by removing walls, you first need to confirm whether the wall between the bedroom and the bathroom is a load-bearing wall. You must consult the property management and qualified structural or design personnel to confirm this, obtain the necessary approvals, and then have the renovation carried out by a professional demolition team according to regulations to avoid accidentally cutting water and electricity pipes or damaging the waterproof layer. After removing the wall, you can use glass partitions or low walls to divide the space into a washing area, toilet area, and shower area to achieve a three-separated bathroom. Alternatively, you can move the sink out of the bathroom and place it next to the wall of the bedroom adjacent to the bathroom, but you need to consider the routing of pipes, moisture issues, and the impact on property transactions.
