Specifications of Container Houses in Baiyun District

Admin September 17, 2026

There is no specific mention of particular container house specifications in Baiyun District, but the following are some common container house specifications:

I. Standard Residential Container Houses This is the most common type. Its standard dimensions are usually 3 meters (width) × 6 meters (length) × 2.8 meters (height), with an internal area of approximately 18 square meters. The spatial layout of this type of container house is reasonable and can meet basic living needs, such as setting up areas for a bedroom, a simple kitchen, and a bathroom. In addition, there are specifications with a width of 2.4 meters and a length of 6 meters (an area of about 14.4 square meters), as well as a version with a height of 2.6 meters. These different specifications can be selected according to the actual usage scenario and requirements. For example, when the site space is limited, a specification with a smaller width can be chosen; for situations with special requirements for the height of the living space, versions with a height of 2.8 meters or 2.6 meters can be selected.

II. Packing-Box Prefabricated Temporary Buildings The standard dimensions of packing-box prefabricated temporary buildings are approximately 3 meters × 6 meters × 2.9 meters, with an area of about 18 square meters. They are relatively similar in size to standard residential container houses, but there may be some differences in structure and function. Packing-box prefabricated temporary buildings usually have better airtightness and thermal insulation, making them suitable for places with high environmental requirements, such as temporary office spaces and medical stations. Their relatively high height also provides more possibilities for the layout of the internal space, allowing for the installation of higher partitions or more equipment.

III. Container Sizes Specified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

  1. 20-foot Containers: They are 6.06 meters long, 2.44 meters wide, and 2.59 meters high (standard high-cube) or 2.89 meters high (high-cube), with an internal volume of about 33 cubic meters. These containers are commonly used for freight transportation, but they can also be transformed into container houses in some special cases. Their relatively small size makes them suitable for single-person occupancy or as small workshops.
  2. 40-foot Containers: They are 12.19 meters long, 2.44 meters wide, and also come in two heights of 2.59 meters and 2.89 meters, with an internal volume of about 67 cubic meters. The space in 40-foot container houses is more spacious and can meet the needs of multiple occupants or be used as large event venues. For example, some temporary exhibitions and commercial events can choose to use 40-foot containers for transformation.

IV. Duplex Container Houses of Guangzhou Jinge Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd. Three 40-foot container houses are spliced together, with the spliced dimensions being 11.8m × 6.75m × 2.8m and a usable area of up to 80 square meters; each 40-foot container house has dimensions of 11.8m × 2.25m × 2.8m. This type of duplex container house expands the usable space through splicing and is suitable for scenarios with high requirements for living area, such as dormitories and resorts.
