AR Mobile Toilet
AR mobile toilets have not yet formed mature applications, but related technological explorations have covered scenarios such as virtual entertainment, assisted navigation, and IoT data fusion. Practical applications still need to overcome key issues in technology, safety, and design.

1. AR Toilet Applications in Virtual Entertainment Scenarios
The mobile game "Mindless Toilet Port Edition" uses AR real-world scanning technology to transform furniture and obstacles in real environments into game level elements. For example, sofas are recognized as moving obstacles, and dining tables are converted into ravines. Players need to plan paths to complete puzzle tasks in a space where virtual and real elements overlap. Although such applications are primarily for entertainment, they validate the feasibility of AR technology in spatial interaction and dynamic path planning, providing technical references for the navigation functions of future AR toilets. However, their core goal is not to address actual toilet needs but to explore the integration mode of AR and physical spaces.
2. Controversies and Lessons in Assisted Navigation Scenarios
The 2025 Osaka Expo introduced an AR-navigated children's toilet system, attempting to guide users to quickly locate toilet stalls through virtual markers. However, the design's circular layout created blind spots for guardians' lines of sight, and the 15-centimeter-high partitions failed to effectively protect children's privacy, sparking public criticism of imbalanced technological priorities. This case demonstrates that the application of AR technology in the toilet field must prioritize basic functional safety. Over-reliance on technology while neglecting physical space design (such as layout rationality and privacy protection) can lead to practical application failures.
3. Potential Integration of IoT Data and AR
Beijing Mobile's integrated toilets transmit real-time operational data (such as stall occupancy and environmental temperature and humidity) to management platforms via IoT modules, providing data support for AR applications. In the future, AR glasses or mobile devices could convert IoT data into visual information, such as real-time display of stall availability, optimal path planning, or air quality monitoring. However, such applications need to address technical challenges such as data synchronization delays and user privacy protection (e.g., avoiding exposure of user information). No mature cases have been implemented yet.
4. Core Challenges in Current Applications
The exploration of AR mobile toilets is still in its early stages and faces three main issues:
- Technological stability: The battery life, positioning accuracy, and environmental adaptability of AR devices (such as glasses) need improvement;
- User privacy: It is necessary to avoid inadvertently leaking user behavior or location information through AR technology;
- Spatial design: AR functions need to be deeply integrated with the layout and accessibility facilities of physical toilets to avoid "using technology for the sake of using technology."
In summary, although AR technology provides innovative directions for the toilet field, it requires multidisciplinary collaboration to address the above issues and achieve the transition from concept to practical application.
