Prefabricated Houses in Bengbu, Anhui

Admin September 18, 2026

Bengbu in Anhui Province has actively explored and practiced in the field of prefabricated houses, forming a characteristic development model and achieving certain results.

Innovative Practices in Rural Homestay Sector

Against the backdrop of rural revitalization, Bengbu has explored a path to create “demountable and relocatable” rural homestays using double-wing expandable modular houses. These houses are produced entirely in factories and only require structural expansion, water and electricity connection, and soft decoration upon arrival at the site. According to the fastest assembly and commissioning schedule, they can be ready for operation within a few days. If creating clusters, they can enter the site in batches and be built while operating, significantly shortening the construction cycle. For example, there are already mature practical samples in the Tushan area of Yuhui District, Bengbu. The local area has revitalized idle rural houses in Tushan, Duying, and Xiahong villages, creating homestay clusters such as “Liusu”. Nine of them were put into operation early on, generating revenue exceeding 800,000 yuan in 2022. Subsequently, 17 were signed and 13 were in operation, with an annual reception volume exceeding 20,000 person-times and annual revenue surpassing one million yuan. At the same time, they have created 65 local jobs, achieving a win-win situation in terms of economic and social benefits.

Industrial Project Layout and Environmental Compliance

Bengbu Xuanda Integrated Housing Co., Ltd. has laid out the “New Project for Annual Processing of 1,000 Sets of Integrated Cement Prefabricated Houses” in Xinjie Village, Longkang Town, Huaiyuan County, covering an area of 9,667 square meters. This project complies with relevant national and local industrial policies, laws, and regulations. By implementing pollution control measures, it ensures that various pollutants are discharged up to standard, reflecting the coordinated development of the prefabricated housing industry and environmental protection requirements.

Industry Trends and Technological Advantages

From the perspective of industry trends, in the first half of 2026, the total export value of prefabricated buildings in China surged by 45% year-on-year. Domestically produced modular temporary buildings are exported to more than 150 countries and regions around the world. Among them, double-wing expandable houses have become the core selection scheme for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in overseas export projects. Their foldable storage design reduces the volume when folded to only one-fourth of that when expanded. The same 40-foot high cube container can load 15 to 20 finished units, directly reducing the sea freight transportation cost per house by more than 60%. On-site construction only takes a few hours and does not require a large number of construction workers, effectively solving the problem of overseas labor shortages. After expansion, the space on both sides extends, doubling the indoor usable area. They are suitable for commercial scenarios such as cultural and tourism homestays, scenic spot reception centers, temporary exhibition halls, and campsite facilities, demonstrating a deep fit between technological advantages and market demands.
