American Prefabricated Housing Factories
Representative enterprises of American prefabricated housing factories include Clayton Homes, Blokable, and China Construction Steel Structure Jiangsu Co., Ltd., among others.

Clayton Homes is a leading enterprise in the American prefabricated housing sector. Founded by Jim Clayton in Maryville, Tennessee, in 1956, it is the largest manufacturer and seller of modular homes in the United States. Its core products encompass modular homes, prefabricated homes, and CrossMod™ homes, covering both traditional on-site constructed homes and off-site constructed homes. In 2014, the company sold 30,871 homes, accounting for approximately 45% of the American prefabricated housing market, highlighting its dominant market position.
Blokable, as a North American 'factory-based' housing manufacturer headquartered in Seattle, focuses on the development of modular housing projects. In collaboration with the 'mission-driven' organization Compass Housing Alliance, it has developed a project in the suburbs of Seattle comprising 85 housing units, targeting diverse communities including the displaced. This model demonstrates the flexibility of prefabricated housing in addressing social housing needs.
China Construction Steel Structure Jiangsu Co., Ltd., although a Chinese enterprise, has secured its first North American order for its full range of modular homes, marking the entry of Chinese prefabricated housing technology into the international market. Its modular construction production base adopts factory-based production, breaking down buildings into independent spatial units and completing over 80% of the processes, including the main structure, interior decoration, and installation of mechanical and electrical pipelines, in the workshop. After the homes arrive at the site, they only need to be assembled and connected to water and electricity for immediate use, significantly improving efficiency. Additionally, its parent company, China Construction Science and Industry Group Co., Ltd., has obtained CSA W47.1 welding enterprise certification, CSA A660 steel structure building system manufacturer certification, and CSA A277 modular product certification, becoming the first enterprise in China to collect all three core Canadian construction standards, laying a technical foundation for international market expansion.
These enterprises have driven the development of the American prefabricated housing industry through factory-based production, standardized processes, and technological innovation, meeting diverse housing demands.
