A Clever Design Turns Several Shipping Containers into a Concept Dining Space
Shipping containers are, in most people's minds, large cargo boxes for transport—the kind we see stacked at ports. Today, though, the containers we are looking at form a restaurant.
Several containers of different colors and sizes are combined as the main body of the restaurant, with stair design and detailed renovations. The result is a freestanding three-level restaurant: indoor dining areas inside the containers, plus an outdoor dining area on the ground floor.
The open-air ground-floor zone is spacious, with casual tables and chairs, sunny light, shade under the trees, and a living green wall.
One ground-floor container is designed as a bar and service counter, with transparent viewing windows so guests can order and pick up food easily. The container opposite serves as a dining area.
Colorful chairs seem perfectly in tune with the pendant lights; lively colors create a more relaxed and cheerful dining atmosphere.
Stairs lead up to the second- and third-floor dining areas. Containers in different colors have been adapted—opened up in the middle, fitted with clear glass, or finished with glass railings. That keeps guests safe while giving indoor dining zones a more open view.
In the evening, when the lights come on, you can see a spectrum of colors. That is part of the restaurant's distinctive lighting design: each container presents its own color.
Light from the container restaurant shines through the large glass windows, pushing the mood to its peak—almost like neon. Under the lights, people sit and enjoy their meals while taking in a striking night view.
Even the restrooms are carefully done, with vivid colors on the walls that echo the colorful containers.
This creative restaurant converted from shipping containers has far more character than rigid concrete buildings; dining here almost invites guests to take photos.
